Mrs. Lester Thompson was the official delegate and will be the lodge's district deputy president for the coming term. Alternate was Mrs. George Dorman. The other two attending were Mrs. Lester Park er and Mrs. Earl Moore. Delegates to the Oregon Grand Lodge session of the Odd Fel lows, held during the same per iod in Salem, were George Haff and Norman Gail of Gold Hill Odd Fellows Lodge No. 129. While in Salem, Mrs. Parker visited her husband's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Cur tis Parker, and his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Kel logg. Mrs. Earl Moore visited friends in Salem, and Mrs. George Dorman visited with a cousin' Mrs. Emma Dencer, and other relatives. The Gold Hill Rebekahs stayed at the auto court operated by Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Parker. Newly elected officers of the Gold Hill Business and Profes sional Women's club will be in stalled Jointly with those of the Grants Pass BPW club, at a meeting Tuesday, May 27; at 8 p.m. at the Library auditorium in Grants Pass. Gold Hill Lions club and its auxiliary, the Lady Lions club, will hold a joint installation of officers Tuesday night, May 27 at the Dardanelle Dinner House on the Old Stage road. Mrs. Vaughn Whitmore. chair man of the Poppy Day sale con ducted by the Auxiliary of Gold Hill post of Veterans of Foreign Wars Friday and Saturday, re ports that the sale was complete ly successful, the auxiliary's en tire quota of 500 poppies being sold. She expressed her appreci ation to the public for its gener ous response. A group of Gold Hill VFW Auxiliary members went "to Camp White Wednesday to at tend the open meeting of the Camp White VFW Post, and to serve refreshments after the meeting. The women took sand wiches and home-made cakes, which they served with ice cream and coffee. The veterans were entertained by pupils from Eve Prentice's accordion studio. The Gold Hill group attending included Henry Albrecht, com mander; Mrs. Lena Laricks, Aux iliary president; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goodwin, Theresa Short, Helen Shoemaker. Lillie MacKay and Ruby Whitmore. The square dancing sessions sponsored by Amethyst Rebekah lodge every two weeks at Odd Fellows hall, although not orig inally started as a project es pecially for teenagers, are at tracting more and more young people, much to the satisfaction of the sponsors. Saturday night's dance was attended by about 60 people, including about 25 teen agers and some younger chil dren. Wilmer Bailey acted as in structor and caller Saturday night. Four visitors from Butte Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Remson and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Moore, demonstrated and taught a new round dance, "Slow Poke." Next square dance wil be Saturday night, June ! at 8 p.m. The pub lic is invited to attend. All adults are asked to bring sandwiches or cookies. A small admission will be charged to pay expenses. Gold Hill VFW Post members went to the Rock Point cemetery last week to clean off graves pf veterans buried there and to place new flags on the graves for Memorial Day. Past Noble Grands club of Am ethyst Rebekah lodge will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Frank Carter on the Old Stage road. Mrs. Floyd Romlne of the Old Stage road was hostess last Sun day night at a turkey dinner hon oring four people on their birth days, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hel zer of Medford, Frank Lock wood, and Mrs. Romine's hus band. Guests present included Mr. and Mrs. Helzer and their baby son, Mr. and Mrs. Loclt wood, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harson of Medford, Mrs. Romine's son, Hubert Hewitt of Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McCormlck and daughter, Bonnie, of Wood burn, are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Romine on the Old Stage road. McCormick is Mrs. Romine's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Scott of Klamath Falls spent last week end visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott, on the Old Stage road. Word has been received by friends here that Dave Ennis, former resident of the Old Stage road, is recuperating from a major surgical operation at the Naval hospital in San Diego, Calif. Ennis is in the Navy and stationed at San Diego. Mr. and Mrs. John Garrison, who had been occupying the Dave Ennis home on the Old Stage road, have now moved into the house next to the Joe Morgan place on North 99 high way. Mrs. Ruth Naughten of Marys ville. Mont., left for home Friday after visiting here with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Dufur of Fifth avenue, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Sawyer, former residents of the Old Stage road, who sold their home and went to Arizona last whiter, I have returned to Oregon and are now living in Medford. He is employed at Toketee Falls. Mrs. W. I. Kesterson and her granddaughter, Margaret Skeel. from Klamath Falls, were in Gold Hill last week visiting Mrs. Kesterson's mother, Mrs. Carrie Puhl of the Old Stage road. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hengtes of Grants Pass spent one day last week at the home of Mrs. Carrie Puhl on the Old Stage road. The couple are old friends of Mrs. Puhl.
