TWO MEDFORD (OREGON) Miss Helen Novak, Dr. Richard Stuart Wedded in Florida Of Interest here ia new of the wedding April 24 of Miss Helen Novak and Dr. Richard Norwood Stuart at Tampa, Fla. The bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Stuart of Danville, Calif., former Medford residents. The bride was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and came to this country about a year ago. The wedding was performed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon In the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacobs, at Tampa, and the bride was given in marriage by Mr. Jacobs. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs also were attendants for the couple. The Rev. M. M. Meredith of the Hyde Park Methodist church, Tampa, performed the service. Mrs. Meredith furnished the wedding music. For her wedding the bride wore a dressmaker suit of gray blue faille and her hat was blush pink. Her accessories were gray-blue and she carried a white Bible topped with a shower of white orchids. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs were hosts at a reception following the ceremony. The couple made a wedding trip which took them back to Bloomington, Ind., where both are associated with the Univer sity of Indiana. After June the couple will be located at Berkeley, Calif., where Dr. Stuart is working on scien tific research for the govern ment. The bride received her ele mentary education abroad and was graduated from the Univer sity of Vienna. She has been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs and was graduated last year cum laude from Florida Southern college. She now is working toward her master's de gree at the University of Indi anna. The bride li the former Page Leard. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shower Party Given For Patricia Barnum; Three Are Hostesses Miss Patricia Barnum, bride elect of Rush Jamison, was hon ored at a bridal shower given last Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Ted Littlefield, Phoenix. Hostesses were Mrs. Littlefield, Mrs. Luther Vorheis and Mrs. Carl Shepherd. About 30 guests attended. Miss Barnum was presented a shower of miscellaneous gifts for her new home. Garden flowers decorated the Littlefield home for the event. The Jamison -Barnum rites will be an event of mid-summer. The brlrie-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Berthold Barn um, South Pacific highway. The Pythian sisters initiated three candidates at a meeting Tuesday. Sunday, May J 8, 1931 Miss Lenherr Wed To Leslie Morton In Rites Tuesday Miss Betty Lenherr and Leslie H. Morton were wed Tuesday, May 20 in an early evening cere mony held in the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morton, 910 Stevens street. The Rev. Harold Casper of the Assembly of God church officiated. The bride Is a daugh ter of Mrs. Marjorie Pierce, 212 Elm street. After the ceremony a buffet supper was served. Guests at the wedding and supper Included the bride's moth re and bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Redding, Mr. and Mrs. John Winecoop, Mrs. Frank Dufek and the Rev. Mr. Casper. The bride attended Medford schools. The bridegroom is a vet eran of four years in the Navy and served two years In Korea and Japan and a year at Pearl Harbor. He recently was dis charged from the service. He Is employed at the Star Paint shop. The couple will live at B06 West Main street. Major and Family Visit in Medford Major and Mrs. Raymond Ross and three children, Skippy, Dan ny and Wendy, are in Medford to visit Mrs. Ross's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olsen, 40 Berke ley way. To Give Shower For Newlyweds The auxiliary to Crater Lake post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will hold a wedding shower for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huber May 27 at 8 p.m. at the VFW hall, 42 North Front street. Mrs. Huber, the former Kntherine Trude, is a member of the auxiliary. All members of the post and auxiliary are cordially invited to attend, it is stated. Leard, San Fran cisco, to Gilbert S. Tumy, ion of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tumy, 705 Park street. Medford. The rites were read at four o'clock in the afternoon at St. Paul's Episcopal church, Burlingame, by the Rev. Francis P. Foot. Tha wedding was attended by about 250 guests. The reception which followed was in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brayton Wilbur, Hillsborough. The bride's wedding gown was of white chantilly lace designed with insets of nylon tulle extend ing from waistline to floor, and a train. Her veil of nylon tulle was held in place with a circlet of seed pearls and her bouquet was fleur d'amour and stepan otis. Miss Calista Farrell, Medford, was maid-of-honor. Mrs. R. C. Ashcom, sister of the bride groom from Albuquerque, N.M., Miss Nancy Nason, San Diego, Miss Mary Wilbur and Miss Sally Proctor were bridesmaids. The attendants all wore gowns of white embroidered organdy and pale blue taffeta designed ballerina-length and with strapless bodices. They were worn with white crgan.dy redingotes fash ioned with low rounded neck lines. Miss Farrell's headdress and bouquet were of pale blue and white delphinium and the bridesmaids flowers were blue delphinium. Mr. Leard gave his daughter in marriage and Halbert S. Deuel .Jr., Medford, served as best man for Mr. Tumy. Ushers were Don F. Bechter, Alan Weir, formerly of Medford and now of San Francisco, David Spencer Brown and Bill Wall, Medford. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Leard wore a royal blue lace and taffeta afternoon dress with matching hat trimmed with small white flowers. Her corsage was of white orchids. The bride groom's mother wore a beige chiffon and lace afternoon dress with matching tulle hat and her flowers were dusty rose orchids. The newlyweds are spending a honeymoon in Santa Barbara, Calif., and will be at home after June 1 at the GeBauer apart ments here. Both attended the University of Oregon where the bride was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and the bride groom of Sigma Chi. Mr. Tumy is now associated with his father in the insurance business. The bridegroom's parents and his sister, Mrs. Ashcom, returned to Medford early last week after attending the wedding, and Mrs. Ashcom expects to remain here with her parents for the month of June. Also attending the wedding from Medford were Mrs. Halbert S. Deuel Jr., Mrs. H. S. Deuel and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Luther. University Student Heads Honor Group Raoul Maddox, student at the University of Oregon, has been named president of Psi chapter and a national councilman of Phi Mu Alpha, men's music honor society. , As president of the chapter the young man will attend the na tional convention in Cincinnati, O., July 10-13. Kemp To Become Bride Of Dow Cravens . An event of today at noon will be the wedding of Mrs. Ethelyn M. Kemp, Ross lane, and Dow Cravens, Arbela, Mo. The double ring ceremony will be used and about 25 persons will attend the ceremony to be held In the home of Mrs. Kemp's grandson, Clarence L. Smith and Mrs. Smith, 813 Grant street. The Rev. Don H. Byers of Cen tral Avenue Church of Christ, will perform the rites. Mrs. Smith will serve the matron of honor and Mr. Smith will act as best man. Irwin J. Reid, Grants Pass, Mrs. Kemp's son-in-law, will escort her to the altar. For her wedding Mrs. Kemp chose a navy blue .sheer dress with a navy lace yoke. Her el bow length nylon gloves and nylon hat trimmed with pink roses are navy blue. Her flowers will be pink roses. Mrs. Smith's dress li of rose pink crepe and lace and her ac cessories are navy blue. Her flowers also are to be pink roses. The rites will take place in front of the living room fireplace banked with greenery. Mrs. Kemp's daughter, Mrs. Reid, Grants Pass, will furnish the wedding music on the Smith's electric organ. Vocal se lections will be given by Mrs. Gladys Combs. Another daughter, Mrs. Imo gene Smith, with whom Mrs. Kemp has been making her home, will assist with other members of the family and friends, at the reception to be held at the same home following the wedding. Out-of-town guests at the wed ding are Mr. and Mrs. Irwin J. Reid, Grants Pass; Mr. and Mrs. Radburn Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. James Lindsey, Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Brown; Mr. and Mrs. James Loughridge and Mrs. Combs, all of Wilderville, near Grants Pass; and Mrs. Lor a Sumpter, Yrcka. Calif. The couple will leave here for Sacramento, Calif., where they will go to train to Arbela to live. Mrs. Kemp has lived in the val ley for 22 years. Mr. Cravens is retired. For 28 years he was a director of re creation for Methodist church youth in the northeast district of Missouri. He arrived here Mon day evening for the wedding.
