He has been stationed in the Alaska city for 2V4 years and is a ground forces photographic specialist: He made the trip to the states by plane and will make his return by driving up -the Alaska highway. Returns Carl Tengwald of the Tengwald Insurance agency, and member of the state real es tate commission, returned yes terday after four days in Salem and Portland. From Long Beach Mrs. Pete Nelson, Evelyn apartments, re turned Wednesday after visiting iu days m L,ong Beach, Calif with her mother, Mrs. Laura Christenson. Mrs. Nelson made the trip to be with her for Mother s day. Mrs. Christenson will arrive here about July 1 for her annual summer visit withthe Nelsons. Pankey Cemetery Residents of Sams Valley are sponsoring a meeting Sunday afternoon. May 25, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pan- key cemetery to form a cemetery association to care for the his toric cemetery in that area. It is planned to form an organized group that will assume responsi bility for the care and preserva tion of the burial ground where many pioneer valley residents are buried. Interested families are invited to take an active part in the project. YMCA Picnic A picnic lunch will feature family night at 6:30 p.m. today at the Medford YMCA. Ludwig as the livestock Community Dairy Show Scheduled A community dairy show spon sored by the Rogue River Jersey Cattle ciub will be held at Nor man Gail's Gailand ranch, four miles south of Gold Hill on Highway 99, at 10 a.m. tomor row, according to R. H. Cate Jr., county agent in 4-H work. The show will be for all breeds with members from Jack son and Josephine counties in vited. Judging and showmanship classes will be held with ribbons going to top honor winners. Jens Svinth, western, repre sentative of tne American jersey Cattle club, will be the judge. Members bringing their own cattle are reminded of the health requirements for such shows, with special notice for the necessity for a clean test for brucellosis within 60 days prior to the show if the animal is over six months old and has not had a calfhood vaccination. A food both will be operated during the show by the members of .the Gold Hill 4-H club.
