Society Drama Qlubs

Horseback riding is a popular hobby,
and the Rogue valley has its share of horse
lovers. One of the county's largest riding
organizations is Jackson County Mounted
Sheriff's posse and it's auxiliary units,
Ladies' Mounted troop and Junior posse.
Currently all three groups are en
gaged in intensive preparations for the
annual rodeo to be held June 14-15 at the
posse grounds. Sage road. Three very
young riders pictured while watching drill
practice are (upper left) Gary Brown, 9,
mounted on "Buck," (at front); his twin sis
ter, Marlys, riding "Nifty" and Carol Robin
son, 11, (at back) riding "Deck." The twins
are children of Mrs. Mary H. Brown and
Carol's mother is Mrs. Mildred Robinson,
One Sunday members of Jacksonville
lions' club worked on the grandstand
which posserrren are building. Shown (up
per rigfvt) are Arthur Davies (at left) Paul
Matheny and Wendell Matheny, almost
hidden by his companions.

posse and troop, is shown (lower right) at

drilling. Officers of the ladies' troop, shown
