May 9. 1951 Portland Gasoline Supply Said Ample Portland (U.R) Oil dis tributors here said Friday that gasoline supplies In this area are ample lor the normal use and that hoarding is unecessary. They pointed out that North west stocks are supplied by Cal ifornia refineries which have not been affected by the nation wide strike of oil workers. Southeastern Idaho is the only northwest area where shortages have been noted. It is supplied from Salt Lake City. The distributors pointed out that their assurance of ample supplies applies to motorists and not to the aviation stocks which are more closely controlled by government orders. DIVIDEND DECLARED Portland (U.R) The Coos Bay Lumber company has declared a dividend of $1.50 as of May 22. The dividend is payable June 2. Jennings Pierce, center, represented the trustees In accepting the check as Ray Clark, formerly manager of the Medford hotel and now an officer of Kln-Shlp, looks on. The presentation was made at a din ner meeting of merchants who are participating in the Kin-Ship plan, which provides scholar ships and community funds through' a pre mium trading stamp system. Grants Pass Group Studies Medtord Plan' Grants Pass The Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce will meet here May IS to discuss setting up a local "Medford plan" for simplified contributions to charity, Presi dent Robert Neilson said today. Members of the Medford com mittee, which has been investi gating the plan for the past year, will appear before the Josephine county group to explain the plan at the May 15 meeting. At the Kin-Shi; meeting, held in the Medford hotel, Ray Clark, former manager of the hotel, was introduced and Hull announced that Clark and his son "Matt" , had completed arrangements for the projection of the Kin-Ship Foundation to the state of Wash ington. I Former Medford Man ! Dies in San Francisco Louis B. Humphreys, who died in San Francisco Monday, was for several years during the 1920s in charge of the California Oregon Power company drafting department. He has been with an engineering firm in the bay city as an architect-engineer for some ' time. A number of the Rogue valley's larger and older homes were designed by him.
