He reported that the confer ence was between Secretary of the Interior Oscar Chapman, Reclamation Commissioner Michael Strauss, Victor Boelil president of the Grants Pass Ir rigation district, William John- ion, and the senator. They presented the case for rehabilitation of the dam, in cluding repair of the undercut of the north wing, and installa tion of fish screens. The district has applied for a loan for the rehabilitation, and a grant for the fish screens. Would Hav. Delayed Morse said a previous ruling of the secretary of the Interior on the Rogue River project would have required two or three years of delay on the dam work, but that at the close of the conference, Chapman agreed that the dam project should be considered separately from the liver project, thus saving two or three years which would have been required by further field studies. Morse emphasized that much work remains to be done be fore the repair program for the dam is authorized and approved.
