Announce Birth A daughter was born April 24 at Red Bluff, Calif., to Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Angele, according to news re ceived in Medford this morning. Mrs. Angele is the former Bon nie Belle Barnwell, daughter of Mrs. Aileen Barnwell, 331 South Ivy street, Medford. The child has been named Aileen Adele, In Hospital John Estes, Jack sonville, was admitted to Oste J opathic hospital last night for v medical treatment, the hospital reported. Jerry Bennett, four, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ben nett, Gold Hill, had a tonsil lectomy at the hospital today. William Dick, 18 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dick, Lake view, underwent surgery today. Daughter Born Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd G. Lyman Jr., are the parents of a daughter born this morning at Pasadena, Calif., This is the first child born to the couple. Mrs. Lyman is the former Elizabeth Brown of Portland, and both Mr. and Mrs. Lyman are graduates of Reed college, Portland, Lyman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd G. V Defendant Cleared In $15,000 Circuit Court Damage Suit A verdict in favor of A. J. Churchman, defendant in a civil case involving a $15,000 suit for personal injuries, was delivered at 5 p.m. yesterday by the jury in circuit court, according to Judge H. K. Hanna. The suit was brought by Har old E. Cushman, who was repre sented by Attorney Don R. New bury. Churchman was repre sented by the law firm of Neff, Frohnmayer and Lowry. Judge Hanna sentenced two men this morning in circuit court, one on a charge of ob taining money under false pre tenses and the other on a for gery charge. Sentence Suspended Howard Leon Webber, 37, Talent, was given a three-year suspended sentence for forgery on condition that he conform with the court's probation stipu lation of not engaging in gam bling, drinking, or associating with people who do. Webber is to make restitu tion for $166 in checks out standing. He pleaded guilty to the charges on April 16. Wayne Myers, 37, of 837 How ard street, Roseburg, was given a three-year suspended sentence wtih a court order to "clear up" his Indebtedness of $400 within 90 days for obtaining money under false pretenses. He had pleaded guilty on April 9 to the charge. Deputy District Attorney Bob Dickey represented the stale in both cases. George R. V. Bol ster, rector of St. Mark's Epis copal church in Medford, was elected dean of the southern con vocation of the church's diocese of Oregon, at the closing sessions of the 64th annual convention of the diocese held in Portland this week. He succeeds the Rev. A. H. MacDpnnell, Ashland, in the post, which is largely an admin istrative one, and is for the area south of Roseburg. , Mr. Bolster also was named an alternate delegate to the pro vincial synod, which will be held in Boise, Ida., May 6 to 8. The convention voted to rec ommend the formation of a ninth province for the church, to in clude the dioceses of Oregon, Montana and Olympia, and the missionary districts of Eastern Oregon, Spokane, Idaho and Alaska. Oregon now is in the eighth province, which includes much of the western part of the United States. In other action, the convention established a minimum stipend for missionary priests of $2,500 for single men and $3,000 for married men, and also voted to oppose a proposal that retired bishops would no longer have a vote in the church's house of bishops. This, and the recom mendation on a new province will be presented to the triennial convention of the Episcopal church, to meet In Boston next September.
