There are times when you will have to take over to avoid the death of a pet that would bring grief to your children. Not Too Important While pels are Important to a child, they should never be allowed to become so important that they will take the place of human companionship. When you find that your son, for ex ample, is spending more time at home playing with his pets than out on the playground, playing with the boys, heed this as a "danger signal" and see what is causing it. Pets have their place in a child's life but that place is not to replace human com panionship. The child never learns from animals how to ad just to living people and this is essential to success In life. If you have a problem about family or friend, ask Dr. Hur lock to help you. Ult-JM lum, one of the discoverers of vitamin A, which was formerly con fused with vi tamin D. Milk contains nearly 15Vt falrta r.t -nl. Dr. Bredy um , lhe quart. Egg yolk, cheese, skim milk, buttermilk, cream, lealy vegetables, greens, beans, peas, peanuts and nuts are the richest food sources of calcium. "The ordinary mixed diet of Americans and Europeans, at least among dwellers in cities and towns, is probably more oft en deficient in calcium than In any other chemical element." So wrote Prof. Henry C. Sherman, author of the famous textbook Chemistry of Food and Nutri tion. I quote these two top author ities just to show that you have to sit up pretty late at night to prove I'm dreaming. The diet of most Americans is dangerously destricted and nu tritionally inadequate (apart from caloric values) by (1) their own whims or habits and (2) be cause of their childish faith in the spacious assurances of irre sponsible food vendors. One common manifestation of calcium and D deficiency is the complaint known as "growing pains" In children. Another Is painful cramps in legs or feet, sometimes in wrists or arms, which occur usually in the night and to mature or elderly adults. Mind, now, this is not to im ply that a dose or two of cal cium with or without vitamin D will dispel growing pains or noc turnal cramps. The corrective treatment for either or both troubles is high calcium diet supplemented with optimal daily ration of cal cium and vitamin D. Calcium alone is much less ef fective because vitamin D is essential for the assimilation, Court Records 1H8TIUCT COURT Perry Paul McCoy, dumping debris upuM purine prupeny, m. Jninn H.
