Misener-O'Conner Rites Take Place Sunday Afternoon Jacksonville One of the larg er early spring weddings was that of Miss Joanne Leona O'Con ner and Edwin Wayne Misener, March 23, in the Jacksonville Assembly of God church. The three o'clock ceremony was at tended by about 125 guests. The Rev. J. A. Skinner read the double-ring rites. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. O'Con nor and the bridegroom's par ents are Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Misener, all of Jacksonville. The bridegroom is a corporal in the Air Force. Mrs. Walter Haas, Jackson ville, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmatron. A brother of the bridegroom, Robert Misener, Jacksonville, was best man. Earl Wall and Jack Brunsiord, both Jackson ville, were ushers. , The bride was given in mar riage by her father. For her wed ding the wore a pink gabardine suit with white accessories and carried a white Bible with or chids. , Mrs. Haas was dressed in a gray suit with white accessories and her flowers were carnations and violets. Mrs. J. H. Skinner sang, ac companied by Miss Joy Rolls of Medford. About 85 pedsons attended the reception held in the church. The wedding cake was served by Mrs. Rolls and Mrs. Earl Wall presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Ellis Meade, Mrs.. Jack Bransford and Miss Doris Wall had charge of gifts. Miss Jeanne Marie .O'Connor, sister of the bride, took charge of the guest book. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. William Webb, Applegate; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'Connor and son, Robert, and Richard O'Connor, all of Med ford. The couple will live at San Diego, Cal., after April 1. The bridegroom is stationed there with the Air Force. Both the bride and bride groom attended Jacksonville high school, the bridegroom be ing a 1948 graduate. He also at tended Southern Oregon, col lege for one year. All-Negro Opera To Be Revived New York-Virgil Thomson's opera, 'Tour Saints In Three Acts," with libretto by Gertrude Stein, is being reviewed on both aides of the Atlantic. The American National Thea ter and Academy (ANTA) will present it in New York begin ning April 10 for a limited en gagement. The all-Negro opera also will be given during May at the exposition of the arts in Paris sponsored by the Congress for Cultural Freedom. Book Club Contemporary Book club will meet Wednesday, April 2, at 1:45 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Floyd Hart. Mrs. Allan R. Smith and Mrs. Alfred N. Potter Jr., will present the program. ltyf '""'-. For her wedding she wore a pink suit with navy blue accessories and her corsage was a white, yellow-throated orchid. The rites were read before a fireplace arranged with potted plants and white stock. Gilchrist The bride has been employed as a cashier at the Craterian theater. She attended Medford high school. The bridegroom at tended Crater high school and expects to be called into the service in the near future. He is a member of the Navy re serve. For the present the couple Is living in the home of the bride's parents, who have left on a trip. IMS MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE THREB To Name Delegates - For Lions' Auxiliary Two delegates who will at tend a state Lions club auxiliary convention in Salem April -17 will be appointed by Crater Lions auxiliary when they meet Tuesday evening, April 1. The group will meet in the home of Mrs. Tom Bessonette, 349 O'Gara avenue. Plans for a food sale also will be discussed. All wives of Crater Lions members are invited to the meet ing to help in deciding on a new meeting date which will accomo date all present members and those who wish to Join. Mrs. Jack Ingram will be cohostess. 4 - Youth Group Plans Party on Saturday A group of 80 young persons and their parents met at the Wagner Creek schoolhouse Sat urday, March 22 for the second meeting of the youth club. Danc ing, games and refreshments were enjoyed. Clay Hurd, president of the group, led a business discussion and it was decided to hold a box social Saturday, April 3. Everyone is invited to the event and women are asked to take decorated food boxes. Delphian Delphinian Society will meet April 1 at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Scott Davis, 1700 East Main street Mrs. Allan Perry will lead the meeting. Study Club Wednesday Study club will meet at the Girls Community club at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2. This will be the annual guest day.
