Illinois) Anli-$2 Bill Group Fails To Hall Print Washington (UJO The United States may be headed for $32,000,000 worth of trouble At least, superstitious persons and other enemies of the $2 bill think so. An Anti-S2 bill group failed to block the printing of 18.000,000 more of the notes planned for the coming fiscal year. ' During a House appropriations subcommittee hearing. Rep. ben jamin F. James (R.. Pa.) said he had received only 10 of the bills in 25 years and has kept them all. He suggested it would be cheaper to do away with the $2 notes and save on engraving plates, forms and records. Mrs. Georgia Necse Clark, treasurer of the United States. came to the rescue of the bill which bears the portrait of Thomas Jefferson. She and Wal ter L. Funk, budget chief in her office, said the bill is still in de mand, especially in New Eng land, and that 33,742,133 bills are in use. Although there are many more exceeding one billion SI bills in circulation, the $2 back ers won the day after explaining it "just costs half as much to issue one $2 bill as it does two $1 bills." DEACON STUBS TOE Marietta, Ga. (UJO A Negro "rum-runner"" said he didn't mind paying the $200 fine for transporting whisky illegally, but he didn't want his name to get in the newspaper. "1 m a deacon in the church and if the Treacher found out about this he'd kick me out," he explained. Michigan leads all states in salt production. WILLIAM BRADY. M.D. Reader should address iaanirtes to: William 263 CI Camino. Beverly Hills, CaL Brse, Sponsored by MONDAYS THROUGH FRIDAYS to FROM A SHILLING TO A FIN Dr. Brady A century ago when a shilling talked 12 i cents, that was the doctor not only labelled the trouble salt he una but probably gave the patient a supply of salve without extra charge. A little later, when al ma n a c s at tained wide cir culation, it be came known as letter an'd it set the victim back four bits 50c, that was to have it so called. For some reason or other the name eczema ultimately became most popular it means, says Webster, to boil out. What tetter means, who knows? Webster just loses one in the Old High Ger man and Lithuanian woods. After World War 1 a lot of doctors became specialists over night it was their only alterna tive to starting again from scratch to build a practice and one of the tricks of the trade was calling eczema dermatitis at $5 and up. Well, dermatitis means skin inflammation and it is at least as good as any other name, may be worth the fancy price you CHOKED GAS? THANK HEAVENS! Most attacks sre lust scld Indigestion. I have open on my desks no less than seven authoritative medical textbooks, whose views or descriptions of eczema I am trying to digest. After an hour's study of the works of these der matologists I'm not sure whether I feel more frustrated than nettled probably nettled. For the present perhaps I had better say no more about the skin specialists. Heaven knows I have few friends left in the pro fession. One textbook (Sutton) pub lished 1937, says "the essential cause of eczema is unknown." Another (Pusey) published in 1917, gives two full pages of causes, constitutional and local, but says no more than Sutton says in seven words. It remained for Brady (who else?) to give the world his mon ograph (and I'm not kidding) on ecxema, which elucidates the subject in the author's well known manner. If you want a copy of the monograph, all you have to do, as the television sales men say, is (1) ask for it in writ ing and (2) inclose with your re quest a stamped envelope bear ing your name and address.
