(Brainerd photo) Minnie Ida Luy, Pioneer Resident Of Valley, Passes Funeral services for Mrs. Min nie Ida Luy, a resident of south ern Oregon for the past 81 years, will be held at Perl funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. and will be read by a Christian Science read er. Interment in Siskiyou Memo rial park will be private. Mrs. Luy, who died in Ashland today, was born at Jacksonville on Jan. 24, 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bybee who at one time were large land hold ers in the valley. She attended grade school and the academy at Jacksonville and later attended school in Portland. In 1893, at Jacksonville, she was married to Fred Luy, who died In 1934. Survivors include two sons, Fred and Lawrence, both of Med- ford. A. Meyers. - MacLean is watching the start of a 10-year program of reassess ment of property values in Ore gon counties, according to Mey ers. The reappraisal has the co operation of the state tax com mission under provisions of an act passed by the 1951 legisla ture, he said. MacLean will also visit Klam ath Falls, Lakeview, Burns, Vale, Police HandleMany Cases in February Report Indicajes Medford city police handled t total of 267 cases during Feb ruary, according to a report for the month issued this week by City Superintendent Robert Duff. In addition, the depart ment issued 200 traffic cita tions. 1.835 meter tickets and rendered 96 public services, the report shows. Leading the list of cases han dled were 70' motor vehicle col lisions, including six injuries. City police investigated 31 of the accidents and handled re ports on the remaining 39. Also high on the list of the number of cases were drunks, 35; lar ceny of less than $50, 29; burg lary, 16; bad checks, 13, and lar ceny of more than $50 and car thefts, 5 each. Many Pk Illegally Illegal parking topped traffic violations with 55 citations. The department also issued 42 cita tions for speeding. 40 for fail ure to stop at a stop light. 20 for void license plates and 16 for no legal operator's license. Nine citations were issued for reckless driving and three for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Services provided for the pub lic were headed by 40 money escorts. They also included 17 funeral escorts, 15 doors found open and reported to ownsri, 14 windows found open and re ported and six safes found open and reported.
