Miss Drost gave a report of the state council meeting held in Eugene last month. Mrs. Maxine House vas a guest and told of a tea and style show she has planned for early April. The chapter will sponsor the event. A luncheon was held Febru ary 26 to honor Mrs. Gadway before her departure. She was presented a gift by the group. ' Scottish Rite Women To Elect New Officers Scottish Rite Woman's club will nominate and elect officers at a meeting Monday, March 10 at 8 p. m. in the Medford Masonic temple. The committee in charge is Mrs. Ralph Krows, Mrs. Radie Hodges, and Mrs. George Thomas. Social Evening A social evening has been planned by Neighbors of Wood craft for Monday, March 10, at 8 p. m., in the IOOF hall. Each member is asked by officers to take a "white elephant." Her topic was "Flowers From Abroad." Miss Harding illustrated her interesting talk with colored slides showing garden scenes from Denmark, Ireland, Eng land, Scotland and France. These scenes were photographed by Miss Harding during her recent visit to Europe. She was espe cially impressed by the Kew gardens in England. The horticulture lesson, "Dog wood, Heroes of Spring," was discussed by Mrs. W. A. Free land. Mrs. John Litster chose the robin as the "bird of the month." Guests for the afternoon in cluded Mrs. John Shannon, Ve radale, Wash.; Mrs. H. M. Hig day, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. John D. Hoist, Butte Falls; Mrs. Lee Amer, Mrs. Fred Bullock, Mrs. George S. Tickets on Sale For Annual Event Of Valley Quartets All seats will be reserved this year for the second annual Har mony Jamboree and parade of quartets -which will be staged here Saturday, March 22, those in charge of the SPEBSQSA event said yesterday. The pro ceeds of the show will be used toward purchase of medical sup plies, blankets, mattresses and first aid equipment for Mercy Flights, Inc., officers explain. Tickets are on sale now at Barker's Men's store, Purucker' Music store and Pruitt's Music center. To encourage Grants Pass per sons to attend the show as well as begin a new SPEBSQSA chap ter in that city, the Rogue Val ley chapter of quartet singers with the chapter chorus will ap pear on radio station KUIN in Grants Pass March 16. Appear ing there will be the "Novelair esy Harmony Wreckers" and the "Three Notes and Dad." On March 14 the "Novelaires" will sing over radio station KYJC. Because of the increase in ticket sales, chapter members are encouraging those who saw last year's show and who expect to attend again, to purchase their tickets as early as possible. Baptist Fellowship Plans Mseling Tuesday The Ladies' Felowship of the First Baptist church will meet for a regular White Cross meet ing Tuesday, March 11, at 1 p. m. Mrs. H. A. Bernston, Jack sonville, will conduct devotion als and Mrs. Don Piatt, Mrs. Mary Stickland and Mrs. Alice Tye will be hostesses. Meeting Scheduled By Luncheon Club The Friday Luncheon club will meet for a dessert luncheon at 1 p. m. Friday, March 14, in the home of Mrs. Robert Taylor, 510 North Bartlett street. $N SN SS ss s ss .ss Winner Announced By Veterans Bridge Club; Auxiliary Gives Prizes .Bill Isaacs and John Solheim were north-south winners and Mrs. James Grigsby and Mike Dillon were east-west winning players at the March 7 session of the Camp White Veterans Bridge club. The north-south winners' score was 150V and the east-west top score was 114. Roy Pruitt and Mrs. W. W, Stevenson were second , in the north-south position with 116; R. J. Conroy and John Sharp, third, with 112; and Mrs; Frank Baker with Mrs. F. A. Stennett, fourth, with 109. : Second in east-west position were Mrs. Fred Rehling and Mrs. Edna Miller with 107; third place went to Mrs. Alto Pruitt and Mrs. Roy Pruitt, who scored 104; and Mrs. Alice Swanson and Mrs. C. E. Kunz were fourth with 98. , Through the courtesy of the Medford American Legion aux iliary, gifts were presented to the three veterans at Camp White who had made the high est number of match points dur ing the month of February. First prize winner was John W. Peter son; second, Philip von Needa, and third, John Solheim. r . Captain and Wife Visit Relatives Capt. and Mrs. Richard W. Drewry are visiting relatives in Washington and Riverside, Cal. Captain Drewry will report at Fort Benning, Ga., March 23, for a month, after which he will sail to Germany for an overseas assignment. . , Mrs. Drewry will accompany her husband to Fort Benning and expects to join him in Germany in a few months.
