It is a Fair Play board with instant view numbers. Blinking numbers show the exact time left to play to quarters. Crater and Ashland highs were presented boards of the same make earlier this sea son. TORNADO GAME WANTED Coach Lee Raosdal is still seeking a football gam for Medfoid high bar on Septem- '' bar 12. Ha started hunting some time ago when Eugene, which had bean scheduled, de- : tided it needed the date for district play. Ragsdal triad to line up Roosevelt of Portland. He also does some regular announcing. Liebman's sportscast schedule this season includes some 35 games in Ore gon and Idaho in addition to tournaments. He was picked to do a Tidewater Associated Oil company sportscast of a Gon zaga university -Eastern Oregon hoop mix. FEB. 23 Willamette Job Goes To Ted Ogdahl Salem U.R Ted Ogdahl. who coached Portland's Grant high school gridders to two state titles, was the new head football coach at Willamette university Friday. The Willamette Athletic board named the .30-year-old former Bearcat grid star to succeed Chester Stackhouse, who resign ed effective June 1. His appoint ment is subject to approval by the university's board of trustees.' ; Year-To-Year Salary terms were - not an nounced, but Board Chairman Robert C. Notson said Ogdahl's contract would be on a year-to-year basis. At the same time, the board appointed Johnny Lewis, now in is fifth year as Bearcat basket ball coach, to the position of ath letic director. He will continue to handle the basketball coaching chores. In addition to winning two state titles, Ogdahl's Grant teams won 37 games, lost 3 and tied 3 since he came to the Portland school in 1948. Northern California will be en tries in tb tourney, club offi cials state. The meet offers shooters a 500 target total and will be a Pacific International TrpshooU-ra elation registered contest. Starts at IS aon. Shooting commences at 10 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will be served at the grounds on both days. ' There will be 230 targets each day, 100 at IS yards. 100 at han dicap distances and 25 pair dou bles. Trophies and prizes will be given for every event. Practice traps will be operated Friday afternoon and all-day Sat urday. Th event will be th first big featured event of the year for the Medford dub. Tornado Jayvces Nip Crater Crew By 50-49 Count Dick Wooton's field goal in an. overtime gave the Medford high school jayvee basketball quint a 50 to 49 win over the Crater junior varsity at Central Point last night. Crater held intermission leads of 13 to 11, 26 to 21 and 39 to 38. Score at the end of the reg ular playing time was 48-alL Ron Brood got a free shot for Crater in the extra session. In the opening encounter the Crater Frosh downed the Grants Pass Froth 47 to 33. Crater had an 8 tb 6 first stanza margin but Grants Pass was on top 22 to 20 at halftime.
