Society and. Clubs Secretaries Attend Regional Meeting Of National Group ' Mrs. Mary Lovejoy, lecretary to N. B. Bender of Bear; Creek orchards ,and Mrs. Evelyn Schroeder, secretary to Glenn L. Jackson of California Oregon Power company, will represent Bogue River . chapter, National Secretaries association, at a re gional meeting to be held - In Seattle, February 22-23. . '. The meeting will take place at the Roosevelt hotel with secre taries from Region I, consisting of Oregon, Washington and Ida bo chapters, in attendance. Nominations for national offi cers, additions and deletions to national resolutions and by-laws will be discussed. The certified professional secretary program will' be the main topic of the Saturday afternoon meeting at which time the first certificates ever to be issued will be pre sented to secretaries who passed the examination given August, 1951. . . Footlighter Play Continues Tonight At Little Theater . Footlighters' presentation of the sprightly comedy, "George Washington Slept Here." wiU continue tonight and Saturday night at the new little theater at the fairgrounds. The cast of valley players and Director Phil Hanson are being praised for the smoothness of the produc tion. Curtain time each night Is 8:15 p. m. and tickets may be obtained at the door. Coffee is being served each night between acts and at the close of the play when members of the cast Join the audience for a brief social period. The production board of Foot- lighters, which functioned in get ting the new theater ready for use, is now taking a well-earned rest. Earl Knight, Max and Mrs. Gertrude Wimmer and Bernie Roberts are said to be mainly responsible for the finishing of the new theater. They were aid ed by Mrs. Frank Buchter and Mrs. Earl Knight, who worked on the stage curtain. Misses Sidney Smith and Bar bara Williams and Mrs. F. L. Ragsdale, working as property girls and on lights and other back-stage duties, are continuing their work through the play's run. 1 Prospect Association To Observe Founding; Board Meeting Held Prospect Founders day will be commemorated at the meet ing which Prospect Parent- Teacher association will hold Tuesday, February 26, at 8 p. m. A short history of the local or ganization .will be narrated by Mrs. Everett Shafer, who is also in charge of the fifth grade mothers preparing the refresh ments for the evening. Frank Sawaki will address the group on Juvenile delin quency. During the business meeting a nominating committee will be selected to serve for the coming election of officers. Plans for the Founders day program, reports on the recent Jackson County PTA council meeting and discussion concern ing the nominating committee for the coming election of offi cers were considered at a meet ing of the PTA executive 'board held Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Funk. It was also announced at the meeting that Carlos Morris will present a show March 20 at the Prospect Community hall with proceeds to go to the local PTA treasury.- Ten members of the board were present for the meeting which was presided over by the president, Mrs. George Hubbard. . Civic Association To Bring Pianists For Concert Tuesday Jackson County Civic Music association has announced a pro gram by the duo-piano team. Ferrante and Teicher, for the next concert of the association It will be given Tuesday, Feb ruary 25, in Medford senior high school auditorium, and Is set for 8:15 p. m. The two musicians will open their program with "Organ Pre lude in C Minor" by Bach-Miller, "Fugue in G Minor" by Bach-Scionti and "Crameriana" by Malvin Warshaw. The second and third groups will be composed of "La Valse" by Maurice Ravel. "Sentimien to by Manuel Infante and "American Fantasy" by Ferrante and Teicher. "Variation on a theme by Beethoven" by Camille Saint- Saens will be played for the fourth group and the closing numbers will be a group of pop ular classics. KJdjon was hostess for a meeting of Central Point Home Eslenskta unit at her home Wed nesday. Mr. Berry pointed out the advantages of planting a small well kept garden, with successive plantings, rather than a Urge unkept garden. Wives of Medford Elks are making elaborate plans for a Leap Year dance to, be given Saturday, February 23, in the temple party lounge. A social hour will be held from 9 to 10 p.m. with dancing to begin at 10 o'clock. The party is to be m tradition al leap year style, with the ladies inviting their husbands, paying the bill and perhaps even pro viding her escort with suitable flowers.
