The bride is the former Rita Boll Rogers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rogers, 814 Adams lana, and Mr. Riggert is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Riggert of Lynwood, Cal. (Shangl photo) Annual Picnic Planned By Central Point Club Central Point The annual picnic for members of Central Point Garden club will be held at the home of Mrs. Charles Taylor, Old Stage road, Wed nesday, July 5 at 12:30 p. m. Each member is to take a dish for the picnic lunch and own service. Dessert will be served by the hostess and her co-hostesses. Mrs. John Holmer and Mrs. W. I. Sutherlin. Mrs. E. W. Jermark will re port on the state convention of Federated Garden Clubs of Ore gon held at Klamath Falls re cently. "The Lady with the Hoe" discussion on perennials will be led by Mrs. Charles Jantzer. Those attending are to take questions on perennials to be answered at roundtable discus sion. Roll call will be answered by members reading a clipping of a garden hint or idea. The clippings will be kept in a scrap book for future use. The Mediterranean countries lead the world In the production of almonds and filberts Square Dancers Elect Joe Hausler President Central Point, July 1 The Federated Funsters, local square and folk dance group, elected Joe Hausler as president of the group at a recent meeting. Other officers are Glenn Bartley, vice- president; and Miss Mildred Hil key, secretary-treasurer. The o f f i c e r s' terms are for six months. Outgoing of f I c e r s are Don Faber. Mrs. Charles A. Meyer and Mrs. Julius Dobrot. Regular meetings will be held this sum mer in the Central Point gym- n a slum at 8:15 p.m. each Monday. Club Entertained by Mrs. Delberi Orgain Mrs. Delbert Orgain, 12 Ken' wood avenue, was hostess to Work-a-Way club members June 29, the last meeting of the group until fall. The all-day meeting opened with a business session which was followed by a potluck luncheon at noon. The remainder of the day was spent In sewing. The manatee, or sea cow, Is essentially a vegetarian animal Rita Belle Rogers Wed To William C. Riggert Among late June brides is the former Miss Rita Belle Rogers, whose marriage to William C. Riggert was an event of June 23 at First Presbyterian church. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Ernest Rogers, 814 Adams lane, and Mr. Riggert's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Riggert of Lynwood, Cal. The service was read by the Rev. Donald B. Blackstone of Twin Falls, Ida., and the bride's father gave her in marriage. Miss Phyllis Corliss sang, accompan ied by Mrs. Eva Marsh at the organ. Masses of pink roses formed a floral setting for the wedding party, and tall baskets held yel low scotch broom. Pink roses with satin bows decorated the pew ends. The bride's gown was of white satin and lace with long train and full-length veil held by a crown of rhinestones and pearls. The veil is a keepsake of Mrs. Charles Reames and has been worn by seven Medford brides. She carried pink sweet peas and white roses. Miss Hazel Hartley was the bride's maid-of-honor. Her gown was of chartreuse satin and she carried a nosegay of white sweet peas and yellow roses. Brides maids were Mrs. Richard Harri son and Miss Helen Rogers, sis ters of the bride. Their gowns were of yellow organdy and their bouquets were nosegays of pink sweet peas and white car nations. Three-year-old Nancy Johnson was flower girl. She wore a long frock of yellow, matching the bridesmaid's gowns, and she also carried a nosegay of pink sweet peas and white carnations. Donald Lingren and Ernest Rogers Jr., lighted the candles. Bob Littrell was best man for the bridegroom and Richard Harrison, William Buchanan. Jim Lewis and Floyd Eastwood seated the guests. The reception which followed was at the home of Mrs. Lew Conley, and Mrs. Ben Stafford and Mrs. John Wubbles assisted. Mrs. Everard Brown cut the wedding cake and Miss Irma Bostock served punch. Miss Mary Lou Van Galder took charge of the guest book. Almost 200 guests attended the wedding and reception. Here for the wedding were the bridegroom's parents and Mrs. Grace Hackett of Mitchell, S. D. Special guests were Mrs. Nora Kleinhamer, grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. E. Lingren, Mr. and Mrs. F. Han son, uncles and aunts of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bursing, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom. The newlyweds traveled to Los Angeles for their honey moon and will live on South Pa cific highway. The bride was graduated from Medford senior high school and is now employed by George Gannon, accountant. Mr. Riggert attended Compton college at Compton, Cal., and after two years with the U. S. National bank in Medford is now a bookkeeper for Trail Lumber company. The name "Winnipeg" means murky waters. Family From Colorado Expected for Visit; Reunion To Be Held Expected to visit July 3 and 4 at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Boyd Brock, S47 Laurel street, Central Point, are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. Littrell and children Hugh and Linda of Denver, Colo. Mrs. Littrell, nee Maxie O'Hara Thompson, ts a former employee of the Medford water department office and la the sis ter of Mrs. Brock. The Littrells and Brocks plan to be at the Thompson family re union near Monmouth, Ore., July 8 and 9, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mat R. Thompson. Mr. Thompson was the Ashland YMCA secretary from 1929 to 1932, and Is now professor at Oregon College of Education. Others expected at the reun ion, most of whom have visited or lived in the Rogue River Val ley, and attended a previous re union 15 years ago in Medford, are Mrs. Patience O. H. Thomp son, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thomp son of North Plainfield, N. J., and son Jim, a student at Yale university; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh O'H. Thompson and Carolee of Seattle, father and daughter both being students at Univers ity of Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Loren Reynolds and children Patty, Alan and Virgina Ann of Corvallis; Mr. and Mrs. Paul K. Thompson, Miss Virginia Thomp son and Miss Ann Thompson, all students this past year at Uni versity of Oregon; Ralph Thomp son of Monmouth high school, Mrs. Clara Thompson of Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Neely of Medford announce the engage-1 ment of their daughter, Phyllis, to William E. Sweet, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Sweet, 722 Pennsylvania avenue. The Sweets formerly lived in Klam- j ath Falls. j The engagement was made known to relatives and friends j at a gathering at Diamond Lake lodge June 17. The wedding is planned for early December. Miss Neely is a graduate of St. Mary's academy, and her fi ance was graduated from Klam ath Falls high school and attend ed Pacific university. He served as a lieutenant in the army dur ing World War II, spending three years in the European theater. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Treece of Portland left Wednesday for their home after a brief stay in Medford with Mrs. Treece's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. I. E, Schuler, Medford heights.
