The John Ousterhouts are stu dents at Oregon State college and Gerald Ousterhout tenches in the Princvillc school. Eel grass is the favorite food of waterfowl. Flies East Mrs. Robert B.-Hammond left Friday from Portlnnd by air for a visit in Washington, D. C, with her son, Major Bruce B. Ham mond, and his family. S XL II cut ' SiMllIti Smiths Hold Reunion In Gold Hill Sunday Gold Hill A family reunion was held June 25 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith on Sardine Creek in honor of Mr. Smith's father. Jack Smith. Other members of the family present were his daughter. Mrs. William Delgado and her grand son from Concord, Cal., his other sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Smith of Sar dine Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Smith of Eugene; Mrs. Nellie Smith of Concord, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vroman of Yoncalla, Ore.; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. George Evans and sons Gary and Larry of Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Clark and daughter, Georgia May, also of Medford. Daughter Here Central Point Mrs. Leslie L. McCue and daughter, Patricia, are in Central Point to visit Mrs. McCuc's mother, Mrs. E. E. Scott. They came from Panama, where Mrs. McCue's husband Is a chaplain in the army, by the S. S. Duivendyk, freighter of the American-Holland line. Chaplain McCue Is stationed at Ft. Clayton at the 12th station hospital. t From Colorado Mrs. Russell Lynn Anderson and daughter, Susan, of Ft. Col lins, Colo., are In Medford as guests of Mrs. Anderson's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Tobln, 147 Highland drive. The visitors plan to be here for the remainder of the summer. Nurse Group Adopts Constitution, Bylaws At Meeting Monday A constitution and bylaws were drawn at a meeting of the newly organized Jackson County Practical Nurses' association Monday evening in the pent house of the Community hos pital. It was announced that so much interest is being shown In the new state organization of which this association is a branch, and so many applications have been received at headquar ters, that it had been impossible for licenses to be granted all applicants by July 1 as sched uled. Licenses will be mailed to all applicants as soon as it is possible. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Anna Slack, Mrs. Thelma Edison, and Mrs. Emma Darland. The penthouse parlor had been decorated by Miss Ruth Nelson, superintendent of the hospital, and Mrs. Mary Becken. London U.R) Jennie Tourel will give the first performance in Britain of a new version of Paul Hindemith's song cycle, "Das Marienleben," at the Edin burgh Festival on August 31. She also will be heard in a song recital of her own choosing. Students Present Piano Recitals Bruno Pellegrini presented his students of piano in recitals Sunday afternoon and Monday evening in the First Christian church. The recitals are an an nual event. Selections included works composed by Beethoven, Shu bert, Debussy, Chopin, Ekstein and other composers. Playing in the Sunday afternoon .recital were Sheryl Califf, Michael Rob erts, Larry Perkins, Janet Kil bourn, Billy White, Faye Zier, Bill Shannon, Bettie White, San dra Califf and Marlys Younger. . Presented in Monday evening's program were Cladia Arnold, Molly Walker, Donna Mae Gott, Janice Davis, Gloria Haggard, Janice Cameron, Josephine Link and Harriett Houghton. Recordings were made so that the pupils may keep records of the recitals. Refreshments were served Sunday by Mrs. Edgar Link and on Monday by Mrs. Noel Davis. About 100 attended the two programs. wfll assume musical supervision of the Israel Philharmonic Orch estra in its first American tour to begin next January 7 in Washington. The two will share the conducting assignments for the major part of the tour. Sev eral other conductors will lend their services. The tour will cover 60 con certs in the larger cities, in cluding Boston, Chicago, Phila delphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle and others. The traveler came to the states to attend the Shrine convention in Los Angeles and for gradua tion ceremonies at the Univer sity of Washington and the Uni versity of Illinois. His son and his daughter were among the graduates of the two schools. Californians Return After Visit in Valley Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln R. Sni der, San Francisco, and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Snider, Campbell, Cal., left for their homes Tues day after visiting last week-end with Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Sater, 2384 Sunset court. The Saters are the parents of Mrs. Lincoln Snider. Mrs. Cora Turner Gustin, Los Angeles, was also a guest at the Sater home. The hosts and their houseguests and Mr. and Mrs J. W. La Tourrelle and daughter, Corinne, 1708 King's highway, visited Crater lake last Sunday. The Snlders were to visit the Oregon Caves after leaving here Tuesday.
