i Iris and Tree Peonies Subject for Program Of Grove Garden Club At a meeting of the Grove Garden club Tuesday In the Oak Grove school house, Mrs. Ken neth Farley, program chairman, led a roundtable discussion on iris. Lyle Thurman, who is becom ing well-known in the valley for the tree peonies he grows as a hobby, spoke regarding the trees. The constitution of the new club was read and accepted by members. The club has been ac cepted as a unit of the Oregon Federation of Garden clubs. Mrs. F. H. Gardner, president, presided. She will be installed at ceremonies to be held June 21 m the temple. Others named to office were Miss Corinne Wing, re.iiur prin cess; Miss Carolyn Coleman, jun ior princess: Miss Kave Durno guide, and Miss John'eva Pond, marshal. A guardian council was elect ed and the members will be an nounced after approval bv the grand guardian council. Installa tion of the guardian council has been set for June 7. A Mothers' club for the bethel was recently organized at a meeting in the home of Mrs. A. Z. Dean, present guardian of the bethel. Mrs. Guy Sanders was elected president and Mrs. Lewis P. Rentchler vice-president. A meeting schedule and other or ganizational details, including the remaining officers, will be announced later. Meetings Scheduled By Pythian Groups Two members are scheduled by Pythian Sister organizations this week. Pythian club will meet at the Girls' Community club Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Pythian Past ; cniets club will meet Thursday, May 25 at the Pythian buildine. Card Party Of Evening Guild Held Tuesday Night Both the parish house and the guild hall of St. Mark's Episco pal church were filled with card players Wednesday night when St. Mark's Evening guild gave the annual spring benefit card party. Tables in the guild hall were filled with women players, while couples and tables for the men players were in the parish hail in the church. Masses of sarden flowers de corated both halls, and each tables was centered with a little vase of blossoms which the los ing players were given as con solation prizes for their poor luck. Bridce arizes went to Mrs. Frank Payne, Mrs. Earl L. Law son, Mrs. L. P. Hiatt, Mrs. B. F. Bird, Mrs. C. L. Howard, Mrs Hans Rammin, Mrs. J. W. Grigsby. Bolster, Leonard Carpenter and John Moffat, have been elected by members of Rogue Valley Knife and Fork club. They will servo three-year terms. Hold-over meinbprs of the board are William M. McAllis ter, Mrs. Stephen G. Nye. Dwight Houghton, Dr. Richard Slccter, Mrs. Alex sparrow and Joseph Lester. Retiring at the end of their terms June 1 will be Mrs. Ber thold Bamum, Thomas V. Wil liams and Herb Grey. Elmer Schlot, traveling rep resentative of Associated clubs, which supplies speakers for the Knife and Fork club, will be in Medford Wednesday, May 24, to meet with members of the local board. He will confirm the schedule of speakers and aid the board In completing the list of speakers for the 1950-51 season. Eagle Point Groups Sponsor Cancer Film Eagle Point An educational film on cancer will be shown at the Eagle Point high school Tuesday, May 23, at 3:30 p.m. This film and a short lecture are jointly sponsored by the Eagle foint Home Extension unit and the Eagle Point PTA.
