Of Grove Garden Club
At a meeting of the Grove
Garden club Tuesday In the Oak
Grove school house, Mrs. Ken
neth Farley, program chairman,
led a roundtable discussion on
iris.
Lyle Thurman, who is becom
ing well-known in the valley for
the tree peonies he grows as a
hobby, spoke regarding the trees.
The constitution of the new
club was read and accepted by
members. The club has been ac
cepted as a unit of the Oregon
Federation of Garden clubs.
Mrs. F. H. Gardner, president,
presided.
Refreshments were served at
the close of the meeting.

Elected Bethel Queen;
Mothers' Club Formed
Miss Fidelia Boone, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boone,
West Main street, was elected
queen of Medford bethel, Job's
Daughters, at the regular meet
ing Wednesday in the Masonic
temple. She will be installed at
ceremonies to be held June 21
m the temple.

A guardian council was elect
ed and the members will be an

A Mothers' club for the bethel
was recently organized at a
meeting in the home of Mrs. A.
Z. Dean, present guardian of the
bethel. Mrs. Guy Sanders was
elected president and Mrs. Lewis
P. Rentchler vice-president. A
meeting schedule and other or
ganizational details, including
the remaining officers, will be
announced later.

this week.

Girls' Community club Tuesday
at 8 p.m. and Pythian Past

Annua! Card Party
Of Evening Guild
Held Tuesday Night
Both the parish house and the
guild hall of St. Mark's Episco
pal church were filled with card
players Wednesday night when
St. Mark's Evening guild gave
the annual spring benefit card
party. Tables in the guild hall
were filled with women players,
while couples and tables for the
men players were in the parish
hail in the church.
Masses of sarden flowers de
corated both halls, and each
tables was centered with a little
vase of blossoms which the los
ing players were given as con
solation prizes for their poor
luck.
