Delegation of Moose Visits Klamath Falls; Reports Mark Meeting A delegation of Women of the Moose and Royal Order of the Moose attended a meeting of the orders in Klamath Falls Thurs day to meet Miss Katherine Smith, grand chancellor of Wom an of the Moose, on her official visit there. Chapters from Mer rill, Bend and Redmond were also present. Attending from here were Mr. and Mrs. Vina Carter, Mrs. Harry Long, Mrs. Clara Eldridge, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Gearin, Mrs. Mary Duffield, Joe BoBies, Rub In L. Winn and Mr. and Mrs. James Roderick. At a meeting of local Women of the Moose held Monday at the lodge hall, reports were made on a white elephant and food sale held May 1. Plans were also discussed for entertaining at Camp White May 28. The meeting closed with re freshments served by Mrs. Stan ley Johnson Mrs. Harry Long and Mrs. Milton Epperson. The nominating committee met May 2 at the home of Mrs. Gearin. Present were Mrs. John Summerfield, Mrs. Francis Coats, Mrs. Fred Schroeder, Mrs. Dick Pruitt, Mrs. Dan Adams and Mrs. Gearin, College Club Plans Annual Guest Day College Women's club of the Rogue River valley has planned the annual guest day for Satur day, May 13. The event will be at the First Presbyterian church In Medford, South Holly at Eighth street. A program observing National Music Week will be given under the direction of Mrs. C. R. Medford Artist To Show Pictures Clifford Platz, Medford artist. has been Invited to exhibit at the Rubin gallery and studio in Longview, Wash. Virginia B. Rubin, director of the gallery, has written that the gallery will be available June 9 through June 30, and has asked Mr. Platz to submit about 20 paintings. He works in both oils and water colors, as well as the new casein paint. Mr. Platz only began to paint in recent years and was much encouraged recently because of comments on his paintings ex hibited at the Oregon Society of Artists annual spring show in Portland. A Portland critic, and several members of the society, commented that Mr. Platz' work showed more improvement dur ing the year than that of any other member of the society whose works were displayed. The Rubin gallery has only opened in recent months and is said to be unusually attractive. Reef Cross Volunteers Hear Monthly Reports At Meeting Thursday Mrs. Ralph Bardwell enter tained volunteer service chair men of the Jackson County Red Cross and guests at luncheon Thursday at her home on South Oakdale avenue. Each chairman reported on the progress of her group, the need of volunteers was discuss ed and a history of the Gray Ladies was given by Mrs. Bard well. Mrs. C. Rease Braley, Mrs. Maurice Spatz and Mrs. John Day were appointed to take charge of arrangements for the annual chapter meeting, sched uled for July 17 at the YMCA. The next monthly business meeting of volunteer chairmen will be at the home of Mrs. Mar garet Fabrick on June 6. Present were Mrs. I. E. Schul er, Mrs. Maurice Spatz, Mrs. Harold Tolle, Mrs. Max Peirce, Mrs. Al Littrell, Mrs. J. P. Naumes, Mrs. John S. Day, Mrs. A. S. V. Carpenter, Miss Char lotte Rogers, Red Cross field di rector at the domociliary cen ter, and the hostess Calico Crew Members Entertain Husbands At Dinner and Cards Members of the Calico Crew entertained their husbands at a ham dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Werner, 1840 Stewart avenue, Wednesday. Following dinner, the evening was spent playing cards. Attending were Maj. and Mrs. Albert Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Burk, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. George Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bittle, Mr. and Mrs. James Flem ing Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Werner. Last regular meeting of the organization was held April 28 in the home of Mrs. Ray Harri son, 719 West Fourth street. Luncheon was served at noon, followed by sewing. , Women's Bible Class To Meet Wednesday Mrs. Susan Graham, 59 Quince street, will be hostess to Woman s Bible class members of the Methodist church Wed nesday May 10. Social Club Jacksonville Adarel Social club members will be guests of Mrs. Lloyd Hamlin, Arnold lane, Thursday, May 11, at 1 p. m. Dessert luncheon will be served by the committee, Mrs. R. C. Cummings, Mrs. S. C. Peters and Mrs. George Merro. Oberammergau with Its 300-vear-old Passion Play, enacted for the first time in 16 years, will be among the top European trav el attractions this summer, ac cording to the German Tourist Information office, attracting half a million visitors, of whom 80.000 will come from the Unitr ed States.
