District Meeting Of Garden Clubs Set for Tuesday The Rogue River Garden club will be hostess for the spring meeting of the Siskiyou district of the Oregon Federation of Gar den Clubs, the meeting having been set for Tuesday, Mny 9, in the Grange hall at Vogue River. Mrs. R. T. Nichol. Medford, district vice-president, extends an Invitation to all garden club members of Josephine. Jackson and Klamath counties to attend the meeting. Registration will be at 0:30 a. m. and the business sessions will begin at 10 a. m. Luncheon will be served by women of the Grange at noon. Mrs. Nichol stntcs that mem bers without transportation may go by Greyhound bus which leaves Medford at 9:45 a. m. and leaves Rogue River at 4:47 p. m. for the return trip. Past Matrons Pai-l Matrons' club of Reames rhapter. Order of the Eastern Star, will meet for dessert lun cheon at the Girls' Community club, Monday at 1 p.m. Tiny Tot Fashions To Be Show Theme Friday Afternoon Gay baloons, colorful animals and floral decorations will form the setting for the "tiny tots" fashion show which is to be an event of Friday, May 12, in the parlors of the First Methodist church with members of Circle Eight of the church as the host ess group. The event will begin at 2 p.m. Children of pre-school age will model the fashions to be shown. While many of the gar ments are to be loaned by local stores, still others will be the needlework of mothers of the children. Ballet costumes and western outfits will also lend color to the event. Mrs. Horace Dolen will play the background music and Mrs. Vern Wilson will introduce the models and give the comments. Mrs. A. M. Perkins is chair man of decorations and is ar ranging a unique table theme. Pouring will be Mrs. W. W. Wal ker, Mrs. 1. C. Williams, Mrs. Lional Rankin and Mrs. W. T. Fro.t The program will include piano selections by Sonja Peter son, a boys' trombone quartet, a song by the Southcrlln twins and other selections. Mrs. Floyd Lewis and Mrs. J. C. Sparks, who are co-chairmen for the event, announce mat all interested women are Invited to attend. Hours will be from two until four o'clock. Mefhodist Delegates Affencf State Meeting A group of women ot Med ford's First Methodist church were in Corvallis Friday for a state meeting of Methodist women. Attending from Medford were Mrs. Jessie Minear, Mrs. W. T. Frost and Mrs. Harry Meyers, representing the Woman's Soci ety of Christian Service: Mrs. Marjorie Hopkins and Mrs. Ever ett Fnbcr, representative of Wes leyan Service guild, and Miss Thelma Loughary, member of Susanah Wesleyan guild. Mrs. Fabor has been in Cleve land, O., to attend the national convention of Wesleyan guild, and was to return to Medford after the Corvalllii meeting. Thirty-six members of the Medford church were in Ash land recently for the annual Rogue zone meeting of Metho dist women. Plan Poppy Day The American Legion auxil iary will hold a regular meeting in the Armorv club rooms at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Mny 10. Mrs. Clark Walker, president of the auxiliary, has announced that plnns for "Poppy Days'' will be completed at this meeting. Service Club Plans Sale Of Carnations Plans for the annual sale of McKinley carnations scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13, will be made at a meeting of the Service club of Colonel Sergeant Auxiliary of United Spanish . War veterans Thursday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the home of Mrs. Z. N. Agee, 518 South Oakdale avenue. Each year the group sponsors the sale to aid veterans and re lief and welfare agencies. State President Temperance Union To Visit Medford Mrs. Fred Tooze Jr., Portland, state president of the Women's Christian Temperance union will pay her official visit to the Medford union on Thursday, May 11. Thursday morning Mrs. Tooze will meet with the executive board and in the afternoon a general meeting will be held at the Girls Community club, North Bartlett street, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Tooze will address the group at 2 p.m. and the program will include devotions and spec ial music. White ribbon recruits will lie dedicated by Mrs. Tooze during the afternoon. The event will close with a social hour and tea. First Baptist Women To Hold Joint Meet The ladies' auxiliary and Gors llne Missionary circle of First Baptist church will hold a com bined meeting Monday, May 8, at 8 p. m., in the church basement. The circle will have charge of the program and auxiliary will serve refreshments. Any Woman interested Is invited to attend. 'Y' Dancers Plan Second Jamboree; Hoheisel Coming Of interest to the valley's many square dances is the an nouncement that Jack Hoheisal of the Los Angeles area has agreed to "call" for another jamboree to be held in Medford's senior high school gymnasium, Saturday evening, June 3. Glenn Smith, chairman of the sponsoring organization, the Medford YMCA square dance group, states that this event has been arranged in response to popular demand as a result of the outstanding success of Mr. Hoheisal's 'first appearance here in March. Further details will be made public as soon as arrangements for tha dance have been com pleted. Musical Society To Meet Monday The May meeting of Medford Musical society will be held at the home of Mrs. M. N. Hogan, Siskiyou -court, Monday, May 8 at 8 p.m. Election of officers will be held, and a report of the scholarship committee will be heard. The program will be in charge of Mrs. R. A. Schuchard, the subject being "Dance Forms Classical ana Modern.'' Group participation Is entitled "Quiz the Easy Way." Hostesses for the social hour are Mrs. E. Ronald Rice, Mrs. A. S. Roach, Mrs. M. Rossi and Mrs. Earl Lawson. Temple To Meet Zulelma temple, Daughters of the Nile, will meet in the Grants Pass Masonic temple, Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m. Tea will follow the business session. Gold Hill Girl Wed To Louis Clutter In Home Ceremony Gold Hill Miss Etheljane Graffis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Leslie Graffis of Gold Hill, became the bride of Louis Albert Clutter May 4. The wed ding ceremony took place at 10 o'clock in the morning and was performed by the Rev. D. E. Mil lard in the home of the bride's parents on highway 99, two miles north of Gold Hill. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Clutter, also of Gold Hill. For her marriage, the bride chose a turquoise blue suit with white accessories. Her corsage was of white baby orchids with lilies of the valley. Her maid of honor, Miss Mary Estremado, wore a pearl gray striped suit dress with black accessories. Pink rosebuds formed her cor sage. John B. Clutter, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The Rev. Mr. Millard sang a solo and other music was fur nished by the Rev. and Mrs. Millard. About 20 attended ihe wed ding and reception immediately following the wedding in the Graffia home. The rooms were decorated with tulips, lilacs, purple iris and flowering quince. The bride and bridegroom first cut the wedding cake and serving was continued by Mrs. Graffis and Mrs. William Rockford. Punch was also served. The bridegroom came to Gold Hill with his parents about one and one-half years ago from Utah. He had formerly resided in Parnell, Mo., and attended grade and high school there. For the past four months he has been employed at Western Chemical center at Tooele, Utah. The bride came to Gold Hill vicinity with her parents in 1944 from Hayward, Cal. She is a graduate of Gold Hill high school, class of 1949. Following the reception, the couple left for a short wedding trip. They will make their home in Tooele, Utah. Miss Chisum Wed To Roy L. Herndon In Recent Service Mi Doris Joan Chisum. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rollie L. Chisum, Eagle Point, and Roy Lyons Herndon, son of Reece L. Herndon of Baker, were married April 22. The Rev. Meredith A. Groves read the marriage serv ice at seven o'clock in the eve ning at the parsonage. The bride wore a powder blue suit with white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Joseph Ginet, her attend ant, wore a brown frock and her flowers were gardenias. Joseph Ginet was best man lor Mr. Herndron. An informal reception for family members and close friends was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chisum, 3960 Hillsinger road, Phoenix, the Chisums being uncle and aunt of the bride. The newlyweds are living In Baker. Wednesday Meeting Planned by Auxiliary A meeting of the Jackson County Medical society auxiliary will be held Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30 p. m. in the home of Mrs. Brandt Bartels, 35 Valley View drive. The newlyweds are living in Medford following a wedding trip to California. Leola Lindstrom And Ralph Conner Wedded In Talent Talent An event of Sunday, April 23, was the wedding of Miss Leola Joyce -Lindstrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lindstrom, 232 Gibson street, Talent, to Ralph E. Conner, son of Mr. and Mrt.' R. E.- Conner, 235 Gibson street, Talent. The service was read- by Ir win P. Alger of the Talent Friends church. The bride's gown was of white organdy over ice blue sat in and she carried a white Bible with two gardenias. Her attend ant, Miss Joyce Jack, wore a yellow frock and carried pink carnations. George W. Conner of Talent was best man for the bride groom. A reception followed at the bride's home, with about 75 guests attending. Cutting the wedding cake and serving re freshments were Miss Avalon Roberts, Mrs. Doris Williams, Mrs. E. D. Sutherland and Miss Julia Maurer. Among the wedding guests were the bride's sister, Mrs. Doris Williams of San Fernando, Cal., the bride's niece, Mrs. R. O. Rogue River To Hold Mother-Daughter Event Rogue River A mother and daughter banquet will be served in Fellowship hall on Thursday, May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be special recognition of the oldest and youngest mothers and the mother who has the most generations of children present, also the mother with the most daughters-in-law or daughters present.
