Shaw, democratic candidate for congressional rep resentative from the fourth dist rict, and Delroy Aldershof, dem ocratic candidate for Jackson county sheriff, will be honored Jointly at a breakfast at the Mod ford hotel Sunday at 11 a.m. The affair is sponsored by the Democratic Veterans committee and will be open to the public, according to James J. Boyle, chairman. The guests, both World War veterans, will be called upon for brief talks. A short program of sketches and music is being arranged, Boyle said. Modern Equipment Seen at Inducement For Young Doctors Atlantic City, N. J., May 5 U.PJ Adm. William H. P. Blan dy said today that young doc tors would be induced to prac tice in rural communities, if they were assured of modern equipment. Blandy, president of the health information foundation, told the annual convention of the American pharmaceutical association that community adoption of an equipment-supplying plan would relieve the ahortage of doctors in smaller communities. The regular meeting of the city council was postponed due to the illness oi councilman Phil Engle and the absence of other members. Engle is suf fering from influenza. Mr. and Mrs. Jim w nipple spent Sunday at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith and enjoyed a drive around the Evans valley roads. They report the loop made by the east and west roads is a beautiful scenic drive to recommend as a tourist attraction. The last PTA meeting of the season will be held in the audi torium of the hish school, 7:30 p. m. Monday, May 8. The pro gram will include vocal selec tions by students of Mrs. Alf Mekvold, and numbers by the Harmony band, played on the new instruments furnished thorn by the PTA. Miss Marcella Mc Cullough has born invited to give a report on the Governor's Conference on Children and Youth. Firemen flushed the hydrants in the downtown area Wednes day evening in a practice drill and at the same time washed the paved streets. The public has been requested not to throw paper and other litter on the streets. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Bernard Wimer, have just returned from a week's visit with their niece in Washington. They also visited Mrs. Bernard s sister at Battle ground. Camp Areas Chosen For Fee Experiment Portland, Ore.. May 4 (U.R) The forestry service announced today that four recreation areas in the Pacific northwest have been selected for continuation of the campground charge ex periment this summer. S e le c t e d campgrounds are Paradise Forest in the Willam ette national forest near Eugene, Ore.; Tollgate Forest Camp in the Mt. Hood national forest; Government Mineral Springs Forest Camp in the Gifford Pinchot national forest near Van couver, Wash., and The Dalles Forest Camp in the Snoqualmie national forest near Seattle. Campers will pay 50 cents a day or $3 a week for car party of not more than six persons. Picnickers will pay 25 cents a visit for a party of not more than six. i Some 1100 other national for est campgrounds in Oregon and Washington will remain on the free list.
