The affair is sponsored by the
Democratic Veterans committee
and will be open to the public,
according to James J. Boyle,
chairman.
The guests, both World War
veterans, will be called upon
for brief talks. A short program
of sketches and music is being
arranged, Boyle said.

health information foundation,
told the annual convention of
the American pharmaceutical
association that community
adoption of an equipment-supplying
plan would relieve the

Firemen flushed the hydrants
in the downtown area Wednes

in the Pacific northwest have
been selected for continuation
of the campground charge ex
periment this summer.

Ore.; Tollgate Forest Camp in
the Mt. Hood national forest;
Government Mineral Springs
Forest Camp in the Gifford
Pinchot national forest near Van

national forest near Seattle.
Campers will pay 50 cents a
day or $3 a week for car party
of not more than six persons.
Picnickers will pay 25 cents a

SECTION
1 in addition to the bonds hereto-
fore authorized the Council of the
City of Medford hereby is authorized
and amoowered to borrow money on
the faith of said City and for that
purpose to issue bonds to oDtam tunas
to extend and enlarge the municipal
water lystem, construct additional
pipe lines, reservoirs, dams and other
facilities in connection therewith and
to acouire rights of way, easements
and real and personal property as
shall be necessary or convenient in
connection therewith. The total
amount of Indebtedness incurred ana
the bondi issued oursuant to this
Section shall not exceed $2,800,000.00.
2. The debt limitations contained in
the Charter of said City shall not ap
olv to the bonds hereby authorized
or to the indebtedness created by the
Issuance of such bonds.
3. Said bonds shall be the General
Obligation of the City of Medford
and shall mature aa the council may
determine and the council is hereby
authorized to levy taxes upon the tax

4. The provisions of Sections 177
and 178 of the Charter shall be
deemed to apply to the bonds hereby

bonds Issued for water purposes.

authority heretofore granted to the
Board of Water Commissioners by the

sioners Is authorized to store and Im
pound the waters of Big Butte Creek.
Its springs and tributaries, construct
additional pipe lines, reservoirs and
dams for, and extend and enlarge,
the municipal water system and to
construct and acquire such other fa
cilities as may be necessary in con
nection therewith and acquire such
lands, easements and real and per
sonal property required or Convenient
In connection with such purposes; to
apply for. purchase, contract for or
otherwise acquire the right to store
and Impound the waters of Big Butte
Creek, its tributaries and springs for
municipal domestic. Irrigation and in
dustrial use within and without the
boundaries of the city of Medford

shall not be deemed to be within any
limitation of taxation now provided
by the Charter and shall be in addition
to. In excess of and outside the limi
tation on taxation imposed by Article
XI, Section 11 of the Constitution of
Oregon.
