Medford's fifth victory was in the 880-yard relay with Lou Bit tie, Pruitt, Jack Morris and Buckingham romping over the route in 1:33.5. Southern Oregon Wins Two from Oregon Tech Klamath Falls, Ore., Apr. 22 (U.R) Southern Oregon college defeated Oregon Technical in stitute 12 to 8 and 12 to 5 in a baseball doublcheader yesterday to make it four victories in a row over the Klamath Falls school Where To Fish Portland, Ore., Apr. 22 (U.R) The state game commission to day issued the following fore cast of sport fishing conditions in Oregon Including: Douglas county The weath er caused some grief last week end but conditions have been rapidly improving. Some of large rivers are slightly mur ky but most of the tributaries are clear. Barring storm every thing should be just right this week-end. Many limit catches of large fish reported from the streams. The salmon sea son got off to a slow start in Umpqua river. Many anglers were out but water was rather high and muddy. These condi tions have been improving all week. Trout and steelhead fishing is closed in Umpqua until May 1. Coos and Curry counties Streams clear, not too high. Limit salmon catches taken on Rogue river in past few days. Should be good over week end. Trout fishing on headwa ters of Coos river fair. Beaver slough on Coquille river fair for trout and salmon. Kiner's mighty drive off right hander Johnny Hetki in the fourth inning cleared the left field scoreboard by about SO feet and disappeared over a clump of trees in Schenlcy park. It was estimated that the ball traveled at least 500 feet and may have gone more than 550. Veteran observers said it was longer than the two drives which Chuck Klein hit to the top of the right field roof of Forbes field on July 10, 1936. Victory For Chasnes Kiner said it was the longest ball he had ever hit. Babe Ruth is generally credited with the longest homer ever hit a drive measured at close to 600 feet hit in an exhibition game at Tampa, Fla. The Oakland ball club's latest rookie "Scoop" was announced by President C. .L "Brick" Laws who said Stanich was signed to a $6i000 contract just under the controversial bonus limit. Numerous major league scouts were known to have been bid ding for the collegiate ace's serv ices for the past several months, but Acorn spokesmen said Laws and Manager Charlie Dressen had convinced Stanich he would be better off to break into pro fessional baseball with the Oaks.
