TEN MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Monday. April 10. 1930 Final Forecast on Year's Supply of Water Released After releasing detailed fore cast! on prospective water sup pliea for southern and south cen tral Oregon oaiuraay, rne ica-eriil-state cooperative snow sur vey today made their final monthly forecast of the season for the whole state. With a few exceptions in some scattered sections of the state, the 1950 water supply prospects are good throughout, the survey said, nearly equal to the excel lent supplies of 1943 and 1946, and better than last year in some areas. Deficiencies or shortages are not to be expected anywhere in the state if normal conditions of snow-melt and runoff prevail, the forecast, given as of April 1, continued. Sees New Records New records of runoff will be established in the Deschutes wa tersheds, with unusually high flows to be expected in Willam ette river tributaries draining the western Cascade slope from the Coast fork and Row river north to and including the Santiam river. Water stored In snow-packs Is 27 per cent greater than one month ago, seven per cent less than last year at this time and 36 per cent greater than in 1948. Watershed soils were said by the report to be believed wetter than average, a factor favoring well-sustained flow from the snow-pack. Reservoired water supplies are, in general, "fair to good," the report said.
