' " ' ," ! at Name Committeemen For Easier Egg Hunt Thomas D. Shepard has been nnmed 1950 chairman for the an nual Medford Kiwanis club Easter egg hunt for the children of Medford and vicinity. He announced that the event will be held Saturday morning, April 8. The exact time- and place and details of the program will be announced later. Youngsters have swarmed over the hunting areas by the hundreds at the event In past years, snepara said that Mwan ians hope to have more eggs than ever for the 1950 hunt and to at tract a record number of chil dren. Plans were also made for a board of review Monday, March 20, at 7 p. m., to prepare Building In Medford Maintains Pace In '49 A summary of Pacific north west building data, prepared by the statistical department of the Equitable Savings and Loan as sociation, shows that the dollar volume of building permits in Medford in 1949 was nearly equal to that of 1948. Permit values last year totaled $2,807. 640, slightly higher than in 1948 when they totaled $2,806,425. The majority of the principal cities in the northwest registered declines. Among the building highlights for 1949 listed by the associa tion was the $500,084 spent in Medford for school expansion and remodelling. the scouts for a court of honor on the following Monday, March 27. Accordion Instructor Joins Purucker Store Fred J. Divlsek, teacher of the accordion who joined the staff of the Purucker Piano house last week, will conduct the five-week accordion contest being held here, the music store said today. Divisek, who is a permanent addition to the Purucker firm, will be joined by his wife and two children as soon as he finds a house. He taught music in Chi cago for many years, and he led an accordion band of 100 pieces which appeared at the world's fair there. He was a member of the Chi cago Opera orchestra for 18 Gardeners Invited To Grants Pass Meeting Men gardeners of Medford and vicinity are invited to visit a meeting of t h e Men's Garden club, Giants Pass, Monday March 20, at the Grants Pass library. Harry Clark, secretary of the Grants Pass club, who was in Medford Thursday, extended the invitation in behalf of Yancy Gibson, new president of the men's organization.
