f Local and Personal Appendectomy Miss Lois Griswold, route 1, box 32, Rogue River, underwent an appendec tomy this morning at Osteopathic hospital. . Improving Mrs. John Tk zeker, 2120 Jacksonville high way, who has been confined to Osteopathic hospital since Sun day, is reported to be improving satisfactorily. v Return Cecil W. Owen of Owen Boat works, and Mrs. Owen have returned from San Francisco where they spent the past week visiting relatives and attending the Boat and Travel show. Purse Returned Mrs. W. D. Durkee, 520 Palm street, reports that a purse containing consider able cash and valuable personal papers, which she had left Sat urday afternoon in the post office lobby, was returned to her Mon day morning, with all its con tents. Date Reported The special meeting for parents of Bliss Hemes Juniors will be held weanesaay at p.m. and was not scheduled last night as pre viously reported. Office Smoked Two fire trucks were sent to the Office Stationery and Supply company about 11:30 p.m. yesterday when smoke was reported. An office spokesman said soot piled up in a stovepipe forcing smoke back into the room. He said there was little smoke and no damage. Bailding Permits D. A. Davis has asked the city building in spector's office for a permit to build a $6,000 house at 829 West 13th street. W. S. Woman Hurt Belle Jones 59 Quince street, suffered slight injuries about 11:30 a.m. yester day when the car she was driv ing left the street and hit a tree at Crater Lake avenue and Main street, according to a report filed with city police.
