Purse Returned Mrs. W. D.
Durkee, 520 Palm street, reports
that a purse containing consider
able cash and valuable personal
papers, which she had left Sat
urday afternoon in the post office
lobby, was returned to her Mon
day morning, with all its con
tents. Mrs. purkee staled that
though the post office was closed
at the time she left her purse a
post office employee found and
returned it to her.

Office Smoked Two fire
trucks were sent to the Office
Stationery and Supply company
about 11:30 p.m. yesterday when
smoke was reported. An office
spokesman said soot piled up in
a stovepipe forcing smoke back
into the room. He said there was
little smoke and no damage.

Woman Hurt Belle Jones
59 Quince street, suffered slight
injuries about 11:30 a.m. yester
day when the car she was driv
ing left the street and hit a tree
at Crater Lake avenue and Main
street, according to a report filed
with city police. According to an
other report, an auto operated by
Mrs. Claudine M. Smith struck
a power pole at Stewart and Oak
dale avenue about 9:30 p.m. yes
terday and received some damage.
