New Supervisor Miss Ardis Tatterson, 511 Park avenue, is now affiliated with Credit Bu reaus, Inc., 223 West Sixth street as supervisor of credit reporting. Schulz chairman of the Camp White vet erans flower memorial fund, to attend the funeral of Arthur L. Herrick of the Veterans center to be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Conger Morris chapel. Burial will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Juveniles Held Three Ju veniles from San Fernando, Cal., were being held for California authorities today and a fourth was being sought following an attempt to wreck a stolen car in Medford, state police reported. Neither occupant of the car was injured. One suspect in the ear theft wearing a black leather coat and tan pants was being sought after he escaped while a lone state policeman rounded up the other three. To Build Home E. J. Par sons has obtained a permit from the city building inspector's of fice to construct a $7,000 resi dence at 2212 Ruhl way. E. C. Loom is asked to renovate a building at 822 East Ninth street for an apartment at a cost of $400. Lewis E. He is en route to Coos Bay and Portland and is expected to return Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bauer, former residents recently returned from a trip to Honolulu. V Band To Play The Junior high band will provide enter tainment for a meeting of the Ju nior High Parent-Teacher asso ciation set for today at 8 p.m. at the school, and all parents are invited to attend. The band is directed by Albert Hunte mann. The program will include a panel discussion on "the home, the church, the school and the community." Family Night Another fam ily night program is being held at the YMCA Friday, February 17 from 7 to 10 p.m., it was an nounced today. A special full length movie will be shown, and in addition the usual family night program will be carried out throughout the evening. Obituary STELLA FOX Services for Mrs. Stella Fox. 83, Jacksonville, who passed away in a local hospital Sunday. will be held in the Conger-Morris chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with tne Kev. L,. ft. Lamp officiating Interment will be In Siskiyou memorial park. ' Mrs. Fox was born in Clarin da, la., March 6, 1866. She was united in marriage to George E Fox on Oct. 30, 1890, in Clar inda. He preceded her in death in January 1942. She came to southern Oregon in 1892, living for many years in Central Point with her daughter, Mrs. Ger- aldine (Hy) Hogan. who survives, Since August 1949, she has been living on Poorman's creek with her daughter. She was a mem ber of the Royal Neighbors of America, Central Point, Also surviving are tour grand, children, ARTHUR HERRICK Services for Arthur L. Herrick, 71, who passed away at the V. A. domiciliary center Saturday, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Friday at 1 p.m, with Chaplain Anderson, Camp White officiating. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. The deceased was born June 15, 1878, in West Poland. Me., and had resided at Camp White since August, 1949. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American war, enlisting June 7, 1899. in Stoughton, Wis., serving as a private in Co. C, 21st Iinfantry. He was discharged June 6, 1902 in San Francisco. There are no known relatives. 'Street Scene' To Be Presented Today Ashland, Feb. 18 Curtains will rise at 8:20 p.m. today on the Southern Oregon college production of Elmer Rice's Pul itzer prize play, "Street Scene." Under the direction of Angus L. Bowmer, the play is expected to be one of the dramatic high lights of the year, according to those who have witnessed final rehearsals. Elaborate stage set tings have been designed by Jack Bcardsley of the Turnabout theater in Los Angeles. "Street Scene" has been in re hearsal here for five weeks and the large cast includes many members of the Medford Civic theater. Reservations may be made for any of the three performances by calling the business office of the college, Ashland 3641, or tickets may be purchased at the door of the Churchill hall audi torium. L. Bartholomew, recruiter in charge. High school graduates making a passing mark on the armed forces qualification test are guar anteed a navy trade school upon the completion of the basic train ing. If a man desires he mny be transferred to either a ship or navy station, where he is given on-the-job training. Young men who are not high school graduates may also ap ply. In this case, a school is not guaranteed but on-the-job train ing is given and if the man shows initiative, advancement is reg ular and he may later be assigned to a school. New Mexican Held On Larceny Charges Here Medford police said today that Louis Roy Valdez, 29, of New Mexico, has admitted two thefts from parked cars last summer and is being held on larceny charges in the city hall. Police said Valdcx admitted taking a Zeiss Icon camera last August from a car owned by Wallace Wong, Chungking inn, and the theft of a sportcoat, fishing reel and tackle box from a car owned by John Robertson, Grand hotel, last June. Bob Stewart, president of the association, said this morning that prices will be maintained here, so far as possible. "If there is a price war, somebody will got hurt," he said. Some dealers who have cut prices in the Med ford area are expected to fall back into line. The association was formed a year and a half ago and meets regularly for discussions of prob lems common to all dealers in the valley. Small Farm Operators May Form Councils More than 30 small farm oper ators met here Tuesday to dis cuss common nerds and the pos sibility of organizing into com munity groups on the pattern of the Talent Small Farms council. Arthur Wisncr, president of the Talent group, described the act ivities' of his organization over the past year. Representatives of small farm operators in the Shady Cove, Gold Hill, Bcllview, Jackson ville, and Midway road commun ities agreed to undertake the responsibility of organizing coun cils in their areas.
