This evening the same two teams are competing on the Rose burg high floor. Last home game for the Black Tornado cagers was against Klamath Falls on January 20 when the local youths coached by Frank Roclandt edged the Pelican quintet. Next League Gam Medford dumped Central Point high In a Southern Oregon conference-District 4 clash last Saturday at the Pointers' gym for its last game played. Next conference clash for the Tornado will be against Eagle Point in Eagles, CP. Cagers Dated Saturday Eve Eagle Point and Central Point will be scenes of basketball games Saturday evening when Myrtle Creek appears on the Eagles floor for a J-D-J league contest and Central Point is host to Ashland high for a Southern Oregon conference-district 4 Jet-together. Games for the two valley schools tonight send Central Point to Myrtle Creek and the Eagles to Ashland high, So far the Eagles are unde feated in J-D-J competition and head that conference standings and they have dropped but one game in the Southern Oregon conference district 4 competi tion. Central Point has failed to win a Southern Oregon conference and district game but ranks high in the J-D-J race. Varsity games for all these teams will start about 8:15 after a 6:30 prelim. Volleyball Contests Results Are Listed Lumbermen, Teachers, Air Base and Businessmen won games In the local YMCA's spon sored volleyball league last night with games taking place at the senior high girls' gymna sium and at the YMCA gymna sium. The Lumbermen defeated the Bankers, the Teachers downed the Fruftmen, the Air Base de feated Camp White and the Businessmen were victors over the Lawyers. BOWLING CITY LEAGUE Jerry Burroughs of the Tenm stcrs' union team in the City Bowling league rolled high in dividual series with a S61 last night when the loop held Its weekly competition at the Med ford Bowling lanes. R. Ott of the E. H. Mnnn company bowled high individual game with a 211. High team scries and high team game were recorded by the Copco team with 2,628 and 950 respectively. Coach Roelundt has been working out his charges each morning this week since school was dismissed while teachers corrected exam papers and some improvement in the locals' point making has been shown, observ ers reported. Ladies Day Tournament To Be Resumed March 2 At Country Club Here Ladles' day play at Roeue Valley Country club will be re sumed on March 2, the govern ing board of the Rogue Valley Women's Golf association an nounced today. ine ladder tournament, which has been In progress for some time, will conclude on Febru ary 18. Sportsmen of Central Point and Medford belong to the Cen tral Point Sportsman's club that meets once a month at its club house on the third Wednesday. Oregon State Vs. Huskies Slated Corvallls. Feb. 3 Oregon State and Washington collide on the maple boards for the first time this season in mammoth Gill coliseum Friday and Satur day. Both games will start at 8 p.m. All reserve seats for Satur day's game, which will be the feature event of Dad's day on the campus, are sold out, but several hundred are still avail able for Friday. General admis sions will go on sale at the gates each night. Capacity crowds are expected both nights unless another snow storm strikes. Lipscomb Again Wins Over Buck Davidson i i Buck Davidson can't lick Jack Lipscomb. At least, he's failed miserably in two consecutive at tempts to do It. The second try was at the armory last night when Lipscomb came out on the long end of the two-out-of-three-fall affair. It looked for a while like Da vidson meant business when he pummelled Lipscomb about the the ring and took the first fall with a stomping leg hold. Lips comb got the upper hand at the outset of the second heat and gave Buck a good basting before evening the falls with a body press. Chases Lipscomb Davidson spent part of the remaining 9 minutes and 20 sec onds chasing Lipscomb around the outside of the ring and that is what cost him the deciding fall. Bucko had taken some rough treatment when he threw Lipscomb out of the ring and went after him. That happened three times and as Davidson was crawling back in the third time, Lipscomb was waiting for him and applied the crusher via another body press. The Great Atlas, who demand ed that he be introduced as the Peacock of the Ring, was noth ing more than a big boob as far as the audience was concerned. However, amid the crowd's boos and Jeers, Atlas hod little trou ble in taking two straight falls over Harry Elliott, who substi tuted for the injured Lee Grable. Bell Shows Lot Ted Bell showed a lot of class before succumbing to George Dusette's full nelson in the opener.
