I committee reDorts on the rprpnt membership drive will be given and another class of candidates initiated. 4 Couple Arrives Her After Attending School Spending a few days in Med ford are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ross, who have arrived from Oregon State college to visit Mrs. Ross' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olson, 40 Berkeley Way. Mr. Ross has left school to re-enter the army and will leave soon to report at Ft. Lew is, Wash. He is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific theater with the Americal division with the rank of captain. Her For Week-end Miss Margo Gammill, student at the University of Oregon, Eu gene, is spending the week-end in the valley at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Gammill, Pioneer Road. Colonial Women 1 Topic of Paper Read at Meeting An Interesting paper on "Vocational Occupations of Col onial Women" was read at the meeting of Crater Lake chapter. Daughters of the American Revolution, held last Saturday at the home of Mrs. M. M. Mor ris, King's Highway. The paper, read by Mrs. William P. Holt, was written by Mrs. Holt's mother, Mrs. Helen T. Pratt, in 1925 and gave a startling in sight into the busines sand pro fessional activities of colonial women. Mrs. A. G. Nutting gave in teresting historical facts about the Sibley home in Mendota. Minn., where she formerly liv ed. During the meeting annual reports were submitted to the regent, Mrs. O. H. Brennemon. Visitors introduced at the meeting were Lancaster Pol lard and Omar C. Spencer. Portland, superintendent and president of the Oregon Histori cal society in Medford to aid in organizing of a southern Oregon society. They were introduced by Walter Jones of Medford. Mrs. W. E. Morley, a visitor from Fontauelle, la., spoke of her chapter. Mrs. Morley was the house guest of Mrs. R. E. Green. Assisting the hostess were Mrs. Frances Cochran and Mrs. Clarence Pankey. Mrs. Brenne man and Mrs. Thomas Young presided at the tea table which was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue flowers. College Students Her For Spring Vacation Arriving yesterday from the College of the Pacific at Stock ton, Calif., were Miss Jean Far ley and Miss Shirley Pankey, who will spend a week's spring vacation with their parents, Dr and Mrs. Kenneth Farley, Jack sonville highway, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pankey, 321 Ap ple street. Miss Farley was accompanied home by Miss Angle Parsons, al so a student at the school. The young women are freshmen stu dents at the college. Games Party Set By Rebekah Lodge An evening of games, with some of those "hard tc find" ar ticles for prizes, is being planned by Olive Rebekah lodge for Mon day night following the business meeting. Husbands and friends will be invited to join in the en tertainment and the social hour and Mrs. Jane McCarty,. noble grand, asks everyone to bring a number of pennies. The lodge members will hold a business meeting at 7:30 and the program and games will start at 8:30 p. m. LIU Huklll Honored At Birthday Party Lila Hukill celebrated her 11th birthday anniversary with a party Feb. 18 at her home. Games were played and refresh ments served. The honored guest was presented with a num ber of gifts. Guests were Fcrney Kellow, Lavonia Kimmens, Darrell Ro ger, Rose Hansen, Lila Strick land, Wilma Strickland, Jean Reilly, Muriel Swing, Charlene Croucher, Sharon Atkins and the honored guest. Mrs. Klemm to Present Book Review For Club "These are the Russians" by Richard Lauterback, will be re viewed by Mrs. Richard Klemm at the meeting of the College Women's club of the Rogue River Valley set for March 9. Members are to be entertained at the home of Mrs. Louis C. Kirby, 27 North Orange street, and the meeting is scheduled for 2 o'clock. Mrs. T. W. Frost will be social chairman. Girls Spend Week-end As Guests of Sorority Miss Joan Hoppe and Miss Barbara Sands, Medford senior high school students, will return today from Eugene where they spent the week-end as guests at the University of Oregon chap ter of Gamma Phi Beta, social sorority. Miss Sands is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sands, Roseborough addition, while Miss Hoppe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoppe, for mer Medford residents who left last fall to reside In Needles, walif. Astoria Family Her To Visit Relatives Mrs. Ford Knutsen and two daughters, Barbara and Mary, of Astoria, arrived in Medford Thursday to visit Mrs. Knut sen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E C. Ferguson, Holly Apartments. Mr. Knutsen arrived Friday and Saturday he and Mrs. Knutsen left by United Mainliner for Los Angeles where they will spend a 10-day vacation, the children remaining here with their grandparents. What the Girl Scouts Are Doing Jackson Troop 29 Members of Troop 29 of the Jackson school spent a delight ful hour at the home of Mrs Gonyon on the Phoenix-Jack sonville highway Feb. 27. Mrs Gonyon spoke to the group on hobbies and illustrated her talk with samples of her own handi craft work. Accompanying the troop and its leaders, Mrs. L. E. Van Aus dall and Mrs. W. H. McKemlc. were Mrs. George Witter, Mrs Elsie Williams and Miss Mar jorie Williams. P.T.A. Activities City P-T.A.
