A proposal to further manu factoring In Oregon and to en courage manufacturing interests has been made to Govornor Earl Snoll by W. B. Crause of Med ford, manager and owner of the Alwyr company on Elm strait. The plan, which proposes in organization for promotion ex hlbita of raw, manufactured and partially manufactured products of the state, was conceived cy Crause during the war years when he made many trips east In Interest of government con tracts carried out by his com pany. It was noted by the con- tractor that there was little knowledge )n that section of the United Stater concerning Ore gon's resources. Name for the In tltution, suggested by Crause, ia Oregon National Exhibit of Materials and Manufacturers. At Capital Crause proposes that the ex hibit be set up at the state capi tal, be national in character and open to the publh. His sugges tion Is that representative buy ers from eastern firms,, Interest ed In Oregon products, ml!ht itudy exhibits In the Institution with a great saving of time and the assurance of a complete howlng of local products. According to the proposal, membership In the Institution would be $100 for a five-year period and could be renewed. Members, made up of e v e r y manufacturer and supplier of raw, manufactured and partially manufactured material In the state would be able to buy ex hibition space at 23 cents per cubic foot per year, and would be eligible to one vote In elec tion of officers for the general management. Backing would be by the leg islature with t.ecessary money to build and ' promote the display being subscribed by the public. All exhibitors would have their exhibits passed upon by a spec ial committee and every manu facturer would have the privil ege of maklna demonstration 'if his wares within the demonstra tion room, rental to be fixed by the board of directors who would determine If the demonstration was of sufficient character to be of Interest to the public. Na tional advertising would be car rled on through varlrus cham ben of commerce committees who have been living upstairs In the Florey building here since last summer, rented and moved Into one of the Coy cottages on the south side of the creek the first of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Wra Inglebert and baby son have returned to Eagle Point fiom Boron, Calif. where Mr. Inglebert waa recent ly discharged from the army They expect to make their home here and their friend:, are glad to welcome them back. R. E. Breeding of Medford has started construction on the build ing which will be a confection ery and light lunch establish ment, on the property he recent ly purchased across the road from the high school here. Dean Tycer, who ia patient In Camp White hospital, Is re ported Improving at this time. Mr. and Airs. "Billy" Taylor and three children moved to Medford this week to make their home. They returned here with Mr. Taylor's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theron Taylor from Sacra mento, Calif., where they had been employed in defense work. Lyle Smith, who has a respon sible position With the auto li cense department in the capital building In Olympla, Wash., re- turi.ed there last Sunday after a two days visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Smith, and sister, Barbara. Frank Putman has a new home well underway on their property adjoining Frank Brown's place here. Mrs, Carl Beebee of Little Butte Meadov s ranch, is on va cation at her old home In Minne sota. She was accompanied by a sister who lives In Medford.
