Light Rays Seen As Boost to Food Hydrogen Content Wilmington, Del. (U.R) Invis ible light rays will be able to spice foods with hydrogen and produce new plastics, new rub ber products and chemicals in the near future, according to Eugene W. Beggs, Westinghouse .ciectric corp. engineer. Beggs says that light rays may soon be able to spice foods with hydrogen, polymerize chemicals into dense, gummy substances such as plastics and rubber by condensing the molecules, and make possible many new chemi cal compounds by chlorlnation, The ability of these invisible rays to "pinch-hit" for chemicals in compounding processes is de scribed by Beggs as an inexpen sive photochemical short-cut haV' ing far-reaching industrial pos sibilities.
