He was dis charged last October and with his wife and small daughter, vis ited in Belvldere, 111., .before re turning to Medford to re-enter business. Cloth For Suits Is Aim of OP A Order Washington, Feb. 26 (U.R) Tn n effort to increase produc tion of men's suits, the Office of Price Administration today re laxed restrictions on the proauc- ' tion of high grade woolen cloth used for that purpose. The action releases manufac turers of certain worsted suit ing fabric from the maximum average price order which re quires them to balance higher priced cloth output with the manufacture of cheaper fabric. The Grange Talent Grange Talent Grange met February 21, with 35 members and' two guests present. Three officers were reported absent. Lecturer Mrs. Norman Adrian presented the following pro gram: Accordion duets by Lois and Glen Bradley, and a recita tion by Elverene Newman. 1st Lt. Francis Gallatin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Gallatin of Ashland, accom panied by Fred Fehr, an uncle from California and Mrs. EUa H. Leonard and Mrs. Delia Schwltzer also of Ashland ar rived later and Lt. Gallatin showed moving pictures she had taken during her travels, ex plaining them as they were shown. Refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Ida Culver, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Culver and Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Colby. Next Grange meeting will be held March 7. A pot luck sup per will be served at 7 p. m. with a special business meeting to follow. Roxy Ann Grange Roxy Ann H.E.C. will meet at Grange hall February 27 at 10:30 a. m. Those attending arc to bring sandwiches or covered dish. Also a paint brush and ccme prepared to finish work on the kitchen. Roxy Ann Grange will meet Friday, March 1, at 8 p. m. The program committee under the chairman, Mrs. Ivan Wolf, has arranged a musical program for lecture hour. Three students of Sebastain Apollo, Robert Lee Fisher, Deloris Morris, and Roger Hogstrom will present several numbers. Grangers ap pearing on the program will be Betty Vanoose, Geraldlne Thomas and Nadine McClana han. Refreshments will be in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Van Ortwick. Former Resident Of Medford Will Edit Navy Paper Comdr. Irvin L. Dew. USN. formerly of Medford, will be come editor of Naval Aviation News, published by the naval de partment, beginning next month, according to information receiv ed from Lt. Comdr. Arthur Schoeni, formerly of Medford. Comdr. Dew was employed in the mailing room of the Mail Tribune in the early 1920's and is a graduate of Medford high school. He received his Annap olis appointment while a Med ford resident. He saw over two years sea duty during the war. During this time he served as air opera tions officer for Admiral Olden dorff in the Caribbean area and over a year in the Pacific. Vatican City, Feb. 26 (U.R) Pope Pius said today he saw abundant evidence of a world wide wish to work together in a great restoration of human society and establishment of an order founded on truth, justice and love. The Pope spoke at an 'unpre cedented audience for the Col lege of Cardinals and the Vati can Diplomatic Corps. The au dience in effect was a consist ory further extending the cere monies of last week In which 32 prelates were elevated to the cardliialate. The audience followed Fran cis Cardinal Spellman's chal lenge to the "attackers of reli gious freedom in many parts of the world." The New York cardinal said it was the duty of the church to stand against the "wave of militant atheism." He spoke in taking over the titular church of Saints John and Paul.
