Goldfish Gulper Spoils Beautiful Fish Friendship San Francisco, Feb. 9 (U.R) Navy Pharmacist's Mate 3e Ted Hanauska, Woodburn, Ore., ac cepted n challenge from his ship mates to swallow a goldfish from i bowl in the Treasure island dis nensary. As a result, the 12th naval dis trict announced today, one of the two remaining goldfish died of a broken heart and their owner, Wave Betty Peters, also a phar macist's mate, Burst into tears. The upshot (again quoting the 12th naval district's official state ment) was that Capt. A. S. Judy (USN) con.mandant of the dis pensary, "reprimanded" Hanau ska, ordered him to reimburse Miss Peters for the cost of the goldfish, and gave her a day of liberty to buy new ones in San Francisco.
