Proceed will go to the building fund fur Medford s new Legion hall. All planning has been exe cuted by War II members of the auxiliary, according to the presi dent, Mrs. Dick Baize. Rogers To Hold Open House Party , On Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Rogers will hold open house for their friends Sunday, Feb. 17 at their home. 008 Queen Anne avenue, in celebration of their 50th wed- oing anniversary. The wedding has been set for Feb. 22 in Tacoma. Miss Sparks, who has been serving as a chief yeoman in the Wuves, was discharged from the navy last week at the Sand Point naval base, Seattle, after three years of service. Her fiance. son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton S Bennett of Tacoma, formerly a chief sonarman in the navy, was released In November. Birthday Party Held For Vivian Brisbin Vivian Anna Brisbine cele brated her third birthday anni versary Feb. 3 with a party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Brisbine, 814 East Jackson street. Hansen, 52 Ross Court, to Weldon May nard Schnell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Schnell, Millers burg, Ohio. - The rites were sol emnized Monday evening at the Presbyterian church at seven o'clock, with the bride's father reading the ceremony. A pruiuaiuil Ul uawvuua, olb- cia and white snapdragons, with i pussywillows and greenery, were ' arranged with lighted tapers in candelabra to form a setting for the bridal party and marked the aisles of the church. The Misses i Rcgina Mark, Rosalie Glascock i Kathryn Anne Hoppe and Anne Durno lighted the tapers. Miss Hansen's wedding gown. of bridal satin fashioned on prin-; cess lines with full train, was worn with a full length two-tier, veil of Imported net and antique lace with matching cap. Her flowers were gardenias and ycl low rosebuds. , Attendants were Mrs. Chester Culham of Los Angeles, sister of the bride, who served as matron-of-honor, Miss Clara Dan iels and Miss Deborah Tremblay, bridesmaids. Their gowns were of sheer white fashioned wilh full skirts and all three wore shoulder bouquets of daffodils Miss Daniels came up from Mills college in California for the wedding. Warrant Officer Murray Miller of San Diego, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage and Clay Gorton of Idaho Falls, Ida., was best man for Mr. Schnell. Ushers were Verl G. Walker, Myron Gaston, Elmer Olson and Walter Gillette. Little Ruth Fisher, daughter of Mr and Mrs. William Fisher, and Craig Phillips, son of Dr. and Mrs. S. E. Phillips, carried the rings on white satin pillows. Mrs. Henry Huenergardt was at the organ for the nuptial mu sic and accompanied Mrs. Wil liam McAllister, who sang "O Promise Me" and Pvt. John Brewer, who sang "Because," The reception was in the as sembly room of the church which had been decorated by women of the East Side circle, headed by Mrs. Kenneth Denman and Mrs. Lewis Ulrich. After the bride and groom cut the first slice of cake, Mrs. Bert R. El liott and Mrs. Edith Baker com pleted the cutting. Mrs. Callle Palm and Mrs. Victor Birdscye poured. Mrs. C. A. Renkcn pre sided over the guest book and girls who had been in the Sun day school class taught by the orioe served. For traveling Mrs. Schnell wore a fox-trimmed three-piece suit of beige and brown with brown accessories and a corsage of gardenias. After a brief wed ding trip the couple will return to Medford until the middle of February when they expect to leave for Ohio, where the groom will operate a farm near Woos-ter.- Mr: Schnell was recently released from the army, in which he held the rank of staff ser geant. Ho was with the weather department of the army air corps and during two years in the Aleutian Islands volunteered for duty at Nunivak, isolated out post. Bridge-Luncheon Given Wednesday For Mrs. Bauman Mrs. A. O. Bauman was hon. ored guest at a bridge-luncheon and handkerchief shower given neonesciay by Mrs. A. J. Loef fler and Mrs. Richard Mlle-itone at the Loeffler homo, 404 West Fifth street. Mrs. Bauman Is leaving Medford the middle of the month to live in Seattle. Prizes for bridge went to Mrs. Hugh Ford, Mrs. Harry Hlnman, Mrs. H. G. Dowson and Mrs. Al Piche. Twenty friends were invited for the pleasant affair. Other farewell affairs arc be ing arranged for Mr. and Mrs. Bauman. Club Is Entertained Central Point Mrs. Viola Trautman entertained the S. F. club at her home in Central Point recently. Gould, formerly of Meaford, the rites taking place in Peace Lutheran church, Portland. The brida is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sandberg and the groom is a son of Mrs. A. Hedluitd. Oregon City, and the late William E. Gould. Mr. and Mrs. Gould are at home in Portland where the groom is a student at the University of Portland. Miss Bernheisel Married Saturday To Leland Cook Ashland Miss Bethel Bern heisel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Frank Bernheisel of Ashland, be came the bride of Leland Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Cook of Phoenix, in a double ring ceremony which was performed at 8 p. m, Saturday, February 2, at the home of the bride s par ents. The Rev. George M. Shum of the Ashland Presbyterian church read the service. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a - suit of royal blue with fuchsia and white accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias and sweet peas. Mrs. Gerald Cook, matron of honor, wore a grey suit with white accessories and a gardenia corsage. Bridesmaids were Miss Elsie Bernheisel, sister, of the bride, who wore a yellow gown, and Miss Betty Dunn way of Hilt, who was gowned In pink. Both wore corsage of gardenias. Gerald Cook was best man for his brother. , A reception followed, with about thirty relatives and close friends attending. Mrs. Jack Clark of Medford completed serving the wedding cake and Mrs. W. K. Meadows, Medford poured. The groom will return to Se attle soon to complete a two-year enlistment and the bride will re main at her parents' home in Ashland. ''1 Founders Program Given By Council Tuesday Afternoon Founders' Day was observed by the City Council of Parents and Teachers at a meeting Tues day at the "Y" club rooms Mem bers of the Lincoln association served as hostesses. During a program arranged by Mrs. Albert Puhl, Mrs. James K. Hoey gave a Founders' Day talk and conducted a candle lighting ceremony. Corsages were presented to Mrs. Minnie Bryant, Mrs. Dee Newton and Mrs. A. E. Brockway, past presi dents, by Mrs. W. R. Glass, pres ent head of the council. Corsages were also presented to Mrs. Hoey and Mrs. Puhl, past state vice-presidents; to Mrs. H. O. Colburn, president of the County Council; to Mrs. Hen ry Pagham, member of the board of managers of the City Council and Mrs. W. G. Shearburn, sec retary of the council who has tendered her resignation. The newly appointed safety, chairman, Mrs. M. A. Cramer, explained the safety program.-. Lucile McCollum Married Sunday To Ashland Man Medford's Chapel of the Rocks and Roses was the scene last Sun day of the wedding of Miss Lu cile E. McCollum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McCollum, Central Point, to Grover Darrell Copeland of Ashland, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A.- Copeland of Klamath Falls. The double-ring ceremony was performed at 1 o'clock by the Rev. D. E. Millard, the service following two songs by the min ister and Mrs. Millard. The bride's gown was of aqua with red trim and was worn with a small red hat, in the shape of an open rose, and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Clare Brownson, sister of the groom, served- as matron-of-honor. . She wore a flowered blue dress and corsage of gardenias. Mr. McCollum gave his daugh ter in marriage and Staff Sgt. J. L. Fisher was best man for Mr. Copeland. A reception for the bridal party and 20 guests followed the service. The newly married couole will live in Ashland. Mr. Copeland, honorably discharged from the army recently, served 43 months 22 in the Aleutian Islands. He held the rank of fourth grade technician. His bride, graduated from high school in Montana later attended the Southern Ore gon College of Education in Ash- iana.
