Young Holmes, on a 20-day rehabilita tion leave, for the last 10 months has been on Saipan In the Marl anna Islands. Holmes, who has been assigned to a patrol ship, will report to San Diego Feb. S for shore duty. . To Japan Lt. (Jg) Robert H. Bryant, commanding officer of the minesweeper YMS 413, is en route from Pearl ' Harbor to Japan according to Information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bryant, 1312 Reddy avenue. Lt. Bryant was recently promoted to his present rank. He has been in the navy four years, part of that period having been spent at the University of Oregon and University of Cali fornia at Los Angeles under the Navy V-12 program. Lieutenant Home Lloyd G. (Ned) Lyman arrived in Medford this morning for a brief leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Lyman and his sister, Mary Lou, at the family home on West Main street. Lt. Lyman is home for the first time sine entering the navy about three years ago. Assigned to the USS Todd, amphibious cargo at tack ship, Lt. Lyman has been on active duty for the past sev eral months and participated in the later campaigns of the war in the Pacific.
