Eslinger, on terminal leave from the army, returned to Med ford yesterday after serving two and one-half years in the Pacific war theater with an anti-aircraft unit. Major Eslinger, an engi neer with the California Oregon Power company before the war, served in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines, Examiner Here From 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. next Thursday, Friday and Saturday a traveling exam iner of operators and chauffeurs will be in Medford at the K of P hail. All those wishing per mits or licenses to drive cars are asked to get in touch with the examiner during these hours, according to a report from the secretary of state's office. Wilson Discharged Former army sergeant, William h, Wil ton, arrived at the family home at 702 Park avenue Sunday eve ning following an honorable dis charge from the service at Ft. Lewis, Wash, Wilson, who is with his wife and son, Kenneth E. , after four years absence, spent 42 months with the signal corps in the Pacific theater. Union Creek Snow About Two Feet Snow in the Union Creek area now measures about two feet ac cording to information from the Rogue River National Forest service ranger. Six inches of new snow fell Monday, it is re ported. About 40 people were on the ski run near Union Creek Sun day, the ranger reported, but skiing was only fair due to soft ness of the snow. ASHLAND CRIME LIST NEW RECORD FOR YEAR Ashland, Jan. 8 A record number of 358 cases were cited by city police during 1845, Chief of Police C. P. Talent told Mayor T. S. Wiley and the city council in his annual report.
