Miss Glascock will return to Portland Jan. 2. Examiner Coming A travel ing examiner of operators and chauffeurs will be at the KP hall Friday and Saturday from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Those wish ing permits or licenses to drive cars are asked to get in touch with the examiner during those hours. Lieutenant Here Lt. (jgl George A. Codding Jr., USNR arrived in Medford recently from Charleston, S. C, and is 'spending the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. ueorge Codding. lUlo yueen Anne avenue. Lt. Codding's ship, the destroyer USS MacKenzie, has now been decommissioned, and he will report soon to Seattle for reassignment. Codding, a graduate of Medford High school and the University of Washing ton, served in the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic. Party Canceled Medford Navy Mothers' club members were informed today that the New Year's eve party planned for the Camp White hospital has been canceled and it will not be necessary for the members to prepare food for the affair. Sons Home Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Casad, Route 1, Cpl. Joe W. Casad and T. Sgt, Allen K. Casad, arrived in the county Monday after having met by chance at Ft. Lewis, Wash., where both were being dis charged from the service. Joe Casad, last stationed at Ft. Mc- Clellan, Ala., served two years in the army and Allen Casad, in the service five years, spent two years of that time in the Pacific theater, arriving from Manila. Another son, Sgt. John Casad, Jr., arrived on the At lantic seaboard from Belgium, after two years in England, France and Belgium, but was unable' to leave New York be cause of transportation and fail ed to reach home for the Christ mas holiday. Cafe Entered City police Investigated the prowling of Bill's cafe. 1182 Court street, yesterday. Entrance to the build ing was made sometime Monday through a screen door and win dow but nothing was taken from the cafe, officers said. Aerie To Meet Crater Lake Aerie No. 2093 and auxiliary will meet in the Eagles' hall, 217 West Main street, at 8 o clock tonight. Members of the drill team are asked to come in uni form. Refreshments will be served and a dance will con elude the evening. To Remodel Loren Deming, 826 East Main street, made ap plication vesterday at the office of the city superintendent for permit to remodel a residence at a cost of $2,000. An applica tion for permit to erect a garage costing $1,500 was filed today by Dr. O. J. Halboth, 36 Barne- burg road. Visit Home Cpl. Lester Wright, who has served the past 23 months with the army over seas, has returned home and is visiting at the home of his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Wright, of Central Point. Also visiting Mrs. Wright is her granddaughter, Miss Gwendolyn Wright, who is attending business school at Oakland, Calif. Son Home Howard Leh man, Sic, is in Medford to spend part of the holiday season with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lehman, Barnett Road. He will return to San Pedro Jan. 1. Another brother, Keith Lehman, S2c, and stationed at Seattle, was unable to be at home. Mr. and Mrs. Brommer, residents of Medford for many years, sold their home on Minnesota avenue a few months ago and have been visit ing on the coast and in Portland since October. They are expect ed to arrive here today and plan to leave for Florida Saturday, returning to Medford next fall, IOOF, Rebekahs Give Christmas Program, Dinner Jacksonville, Dec. 27 Jack sonville I. O. O. F. Lodge No 10, and Ruth Rebekah Lodge No. 4, presented their annual Christmas program for the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs and their families the evening of Dec. 22 Approximately 150 attended and were served a turkey dinner prepared by the Rebekahs. The Rev. and Mrs. D. E. Mil lard sang several selections for the program. Santa Clans furnished candy and gifts for the children and all members enjoyed a gift ex change. OBITUARY IDA M. SCHULER Ida M. Schuler, a resident of Medford for 38 years, passed away at a local hospital this morning. Mrs. Schuler was born In On tario, Canada, Sept. 10, 1859. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of one year. In 1877 she was married to Richard Schuler at Eyota, Minn. Left to mourn her passing are three sons, Harry D. Schuler, Sanborn, N. D.; Ira E. and Rod ney Schuler, both of Medford, and two daughters, Stella L. Bos well, Beavcrton, Ore., and Ruth E. Pickell, Eugene, Ore. Eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Perl Funeral Home Satur day at 11 a. m. The Rev. Del bert Daniels of the First Chris tian church will officiate and interment will be In Medford I.O.O.F. cemetery.
