' Special Program At Church of God A special program will be given Sunday at 7:30 p. m. by the Sunday school children, young people and choir of the Church of God, Haven and Hoily streets. The Christmas message will be given by the pastor, the Rev. R. F. Wilson. Recitations and music will be included in the program. Sacred Music By Methodist Choir Sunday Evening The twenty-five voice choir of the Methodist Church will present an hour of sacred music in their church at West Main and Laurel streets Sunday even ing at 7:30. The pastor, Louis C. Special Services Mark Holiday At Lutheran Church The happy yulctide will again be celebrated in St. Peter's Lutheran Church with special services and programs, begin ning with a Sunday school Christmas program on Christ mas Eve at 8 p. m. in the Lin coln school auditorium on North Bartlett and Maple streets. Ac cording to the pastor, Harry H. Young, the program will tell the story of the Nativity in songs, readings and recitations. A Christmas treat will be given to every child attending. A special Christmas com munion service will be held Christmas morning at 11 o'clock in the chapel on Portland Avenue with special Christmas music by the organist and girls' trio. The public is cordially invited to all these services. Shady Cove Father, Son See Guam Duty In Two World Wars Shady Cove, Dec. 21 Both Clyde D. Williams and his son, Jack M. Williams, served on the Island of Guam during world wars, the father having been stationed on Guam with a ma rine corps unit during the first World War and his son having served on Guam with the navy during the war Just ended. The younger Williams, a sea man first class, was with the naval units which took the Mar shall islands and later helped to take Guam from Japanese troops. He was in the navy two and one-half years and is now in Shady Cove visiting his par ents. He will report to Farra gut, Ida., Jan. 12 for discharge. Clyde Williams operates a plumbing business in Shady Cove. Friday.
