Shady Cove Father,
Son See Guam Duty
In Two World Wars
Shady Cove, Dec. 21 Both
Clyde D. Williams and his son,
Jack M. Williams, served on the
Island of Guam during world
wars, the father having been
stationed on Guam with a ma
rine corps unit during the first
World War and his son having
served on Guam with the navy
during the war Just ended.
The younger Williams, a sea
man first class, was with the
naval units which took the Mar
shall islands and later helped to
take Guam from Japanese
troops. He was in the navy two
and one-half years and is now
in Shady Cove visiting his par
ents. He will report to Farra
gut, Ida., Jan. 12 for discharge.
Clyde Williams operates a
plumbing business in Shady
Cove.
