Newspaper Page TextLOCAL and Coat Stolen A lady's tan coat, belonging to Mary Ann Brill, Trail, was reported stolen Monday night from a car parked near a local service station, city police said today, To Build Garage Edgar M. Moore, route 2, applied yester day at the office of the city su perintendent for permit to de molish a barn and erect a gar age at 502 Maple street. Window Broken A plate glass window in the Green Con fectionary, Main and Fir streets, was broken last night when an identified soldier threw a rock through the glass, city police were told last nignt. Airman Returns Capt. Ray mond H. Dougherty, who served with the army air forces in the western Pacific, has returned to Medford on terminal leave after four and one half years service. He and his wife and year old son, Michael, are visiting with Dougherty's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Rinabargher, 13b Van couver avenue. Mrs. Dougherty and son resided with her par rents in Seattle while her hus band was overseas. Dougherty was stationed on Guam prior to his return to the states. Car Damaged A car operat ed by Ralph A. Ingle, 640 West Tenth street, was badly damaged last night when it failed to make a turn from Court street on to North Central avenue, city po lice reported today. The auto left the street striking a tele phone pole and was turned on Its side, police said. Ingle re ceived slight bruises, according to the report. Also damaged last night was a car owned by C. R. Greene, 611 Riverside ave nue, when it was struck by a hit and run driver, police were told. Greene's car was parked on South Riverside avenue at the time. FOR GOOD HEALTH! Flue Fire A flue fire at the Don Goodman home, 628 North Central avenue, was extinguish ed by city firemen last night, The blaze reportedly caused no damage. The two men left Monday to take a federal prisoner to Multnomah county authorities. Kipple, 210 Cot tage street, suffered a back in iurv but was not otherwise seri ously hurt when she was struck by a car driven by Mary E. Lemons, 1211 West Main street, in front of Lamport's Sporting Goods store shortly after noon today, according to city police. Police said Mrs. Kipple step ped from between two parked cars into the path of Mrs. Lemon's machine. The Injured woman was taken to her home by the Investigating police officer.
