Inskeep will. act as host and the paper of the evening will be presented by Dr. C. M. Young. Beer Promoted Ernest W. Beer, son of Mrs. Laura Beer, 327 Edwards street, has been promoted from private first class to technician fifth grade with an engineer combat bat talion. Cpl. Beer is a member of the 81st Infantry Division in northern Honshu. He was for merly a truck driver at Beck's Bakery. Daughter Home Miss Lucile Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd V. Young, is spending two weeks at the home of her par ents in Talent. Miss Young is m her senior year at the University of Portland College of Nursing. A member of the United States cadet nurse corps, she plans to affiliate with the Veterans Ad ministration during the last six months of her training. Teacher Here Alex McDon ald, former teacher of social studies and athletics at Medford high school before entering the navy in 1943, visited In the city yesterday from Banks, Ore. Mc Donald, who held the rank of lieutenant, has received an hon orable discharge from the serv ice and is to return to Medford soon to take up his former posi tion at the school.
