On Inactive List Alvin L. Wimer, 410 North Ivy street, and James Muncie, box 252, Old Military Road, will revert to in active status soon, according to the commanding officer of the Fort Lewis Separation Center. Wimer will become inactive Dec. 30 while Muncie becomes inac tive Jan. 18. Veteran Discharged Veteran of two years overseas service in Burma, former tcchniciai, fourth grade, Alan D. Rethemeyer, ar rived yesterday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rethemeyer, Gold Hill. Rethe meyer, who was honorably dis charged from the army at Ft. Lewis, Wash., served over four years with the army ordnance department and received the European theater ribbon for a month's service in Africa, and the Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon with one bronze battle star. Elmer V, Wooten, Salem, state director of selective service, today paid an Official call on the selective serv ice boards of Medford. Col. Wooten discussed problems of the returning veteran with board members. In Portland Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peebles and daughter. Mary Louise, 513 Pennsylvania avenue, returned Tuesday from Portland where they spent three days visiting at the home of Mrs. Peebles' sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Cioeta. Enlists Douglas Jack Park hurst, son of H. H. Parkhurst, route 2, has enlisted in the army air corps for a three years period, according to a press release from the Portland military personnel procurement service. Parkhurst. who attended Medford high school two years, received a United States assignment, the release stated. Seek Identity City police to day are seeking information con cerning the identity of Pete B. McCurdy of Ellensburg, Wash., who committed suicide yesterday in Ellensburg, according to a call from the Ellensburg sheriff's office to local officers. Anyone having information concerning the deceased is asked to get in touch with police. Colonel Here Col. D. H. Bax ter is to leave the city tomorrow to report to the Portland army air base after a short visit in Medford at the homes of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kellogg, 71? East Jackson street, and Mr. and Mrs. C E Gates, also aunt and uncle of the colonel. Col. Baxter is en route to the Portland base from the Panama canal zone, where he has spent the past two years. His wife and family are residing in Orando, Fla. Cars Damaged Considerable damage was caused cars oper ated by Clyde Minger, 2117 Capitol avenue, and Earl Jossy, 115 Washington street, Wednes day in a collision at the Jackson street and Crater Lake avenue intersection, according to city police who investigated the acci dent. Minger was fined $2.50 In police court for driving with no operator's license. Also damaged slightly Wednesday were cars driven by Mrs. Peggy Benjamin Medford, and G. W. Howard, 713 West 10th street, when they collided on West 10th street, city police reported.
