Hollcnbeck, 722 North Riverside avenue, received word last night of the birth of a son to Capt. and Mrs. Clyde Hollenbeck, San Marino, Calif. The infant, born yesterday, weighed seven pounds and has been named Charles Lawrence. The captain is a son of the Hollenbecks. To Give Dinner Women of the Presbyterian church are completing plans for the annual bazaar and benefit dinner set for Dec. 5 at the church. The dinner, featuring turkey, will be served at 6:30 p. m. with members of Grace circle, of which Mrs. Ben Stafford is chairman, in charge. The pub lic is cordially invited to attend. Officer Leaves Capt. Leslie J. Conroy, of the medical admin istrative corps, left the city yes terday to report for duty at the Glennon General hospital, Ok mulgee, Okla., after spending 45 days with his wife and children at the family home, 1102, West 9th street. Capt. Conroy re turned to the U. S. recently fnl lowing service in the European theater. Bltlle Discharged F o r m e r sergeant with the 91st Infantry division, John L. Bittle, has re turned home following an hon orable discharge from the ser vice. In the army two years, two months, Bittle spent 18 months in Italy where he receiv ed the combat . Infantryman's badge and three bronze battle stars. He is the son of L. F. Bittle, route 2, box 410. Gold Hill Man Home George Fredenburg, former staff ser geant with the ,13th army air force, returned to the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fredenburg, Gold Hill, yester day after receiving an honorable discharge from the service at Ft. Lewis. Fredenburg, who enter ed the service three and one- half years ago, received three bronze battle stars for service as flight engineer aboard a B-17 in the Pacific theater. Veteran Returns Cpl. Virgil W. Lacy returned to his home in Ashland last week from Ft. Lewis, Wash., where he received an honorable discharge from the army air force. Lacy, who serv ed three years, 8 months in the army, spent one year with the ground force of the 20th air force on Tinlan in the South Pacific, where he received three bronze battle stars. Cpl. Lacy also received the good conduct medal and ribbons for the Asiatic-Pacific theater and American theater. His mother, Mrs. E. E. Lacy, resides in Klamath Falls.
