SIX MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE Friday. Not. 13. 1S45 L 2 P.M. SATURDAY Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m., for Ralph Harrison Shirley, 420 Laurel street, who passed away Tuesday in a local physician's office. The services, at the Perl Funeral Home, will be conducted by the Rev. D. E. Millard. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Me morial Park. Mr. Shirley, who was born May 17, 1889 in Schuyler county, Mo., the son of Benjamin and Sarah E. Shirley, was associated in business here with his brother Arthur for 20 years. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Flora, to whom he was married Nov. 19, 1913 in Water loo, la., two daughters, Mrs. Donald Grieves, Medford, and Mrs. John P. Burch, and a step son, Paul L. Thompson, of Wash ington, D. C. Also surviving are six brothers, James W. and Ar thur B., of Medford, Benjamin Florence, Ore., Roswell M Toppenish, Wash., Raymond Glenwood, Mo., and Paul Shirley of Blakesburg, la. Two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Moulder, Queen City, Mo., and Mrs. Ora Ham mons, Green Castle, Mo., three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Main Phon. 2078 "Forests Forever" was the subject of Rogue River Forest Supervisor, Karl Janouch in an address at the regular monthly meeting of the Izaak Walton League at the Medford Hotel Tuesday evening. Janouch's explanation of future policies of the United States Forest Service for the conservation of Ameri ca's outdoor heritages was high ly Interesting and instructing to the conservationist. Sound pic tures in color amplified the lec ture. A large attendance greet ed the speaker. President Paske spoke on the subject of steam polution, as re lated to the rapid spread of polio epidemics in the United States. Further information on the subject will be given the public through the press In the near future, the local Izaak Wal ton League chapter having em barked on a campaign of educa tion in co-operation with other National organizations interest ed in clean streams. The December meeting of the Chapter will be highlighted by the annual election of officers and reports of the year's ac complishments.
