Phosphorus and calcium are closely associated in foods and in the body. Practically every food that contains a considerable amount of phosphorus is also a good food source of calcium egg yolk, milk, cheese, nuts, peas, beans, greens, peanuts. In milk or cheese, for example, there is a little more calcium (about 16 or 17 grains) than phosphorus (about 15 grains) to the quart and in the healthy well nourished child or adult this ratio between calcium and phos phorus is maintained. Whether calcium and phos phorus are supplied in natural food or in such chemical or med icinal forms as calcium glucon ate and di-calcium phosphate, an adequate supply of vitamin D is always essential for the assimi lation, utilization and retention of phosphorus and calcium. Therefore whenever prepara tions of either or both are taken, to supplement the diet or as a remedy for an ailment due to phosphorus or calcium deficien cy, vitamin D should be taken with them. Just what "weak nerves" may be, if anything definite, I'm not sure are you? I honestly have no clear idea what "weak nerves", "neurasthenia" or "ner vous exhaustion" means.
