Neathamer of 509 Austin atreet was discharged from the army at McClellan Field, Calif., recently after three and one-half years of service with the army air forces, a release from the field states. Sgt. Neathamer was last stationed at the air field at Laredo, Tex., where he was an ' engineer. The sergeant's wile, l Mabel, resides at the Austin ' street address. D. Jackson of Ashland, and reported stolen in that city yesterday, was later recovered at the checking station at the California-Oregon bound ary and returned to the owner, according to a report filed with Medford city police. Invite Navy Mothers Mem bers of Navy Mothers' club No. 46 are invited to attend a Navy Day dance Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Riverside USO. The recent ly organised Camp White navy band will furnish music, for the dance and refreshments will be served by navy mothers during intermission. In Hospital Mrs. Willard Dudley, Marsh Lane, a patir-nt at Sacred Heart hospital, is con valescing satisfactorily, relatives report. Mrs. Dudley's brother, Floyd Dunn of Olympia, Wash., is reported to be seriously ill in an Olympia hospital, where he recently underwent major sur gery. All SPEAKS AT KIWANIS MEET Highlights of the formal sign ing of the peace treaties aboard the battleship Missouri, which ended the Japanese war, were given by Capt. B. N. Ahl, navy medical officer, at the meeting of the Medford Kiwanis club yes terday at noon. Capt. Ahl is ex ecutive officer for the Camp White naval hospital. The captain also related other interesting events of the war, be ginning with the Pearl Harbor disaster and concluding with the arrival of the Missouri, on which he was stationed, In Tokyo bay at the end of hostilities, A num ber of photographs were display ed by the officer. Geoige Turney of St. Mark's Episcopal church will conduct the service in the chapel at 3:30 p. m. and interment will be in tha Jack sonville cemetery, Mrs. Blakeley, who had lived In Medford 40 years, was a former county treasurer, haing served from 1915 to 1919, nd prior to that was an accountant in the office of the county rec order. For the past 24 years she had been an accountant and of fice manager for the Medford Mail-Tribune. Mrs. Blakeley leaves to mourn ber passing one daughter, Nina F. Blakeley, Medford; one broth er, Etna W. Wall, Medford, and one sister, Mrs. O. E. Blacking- ton of Woodside, Calif., as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
