Fire Run City firemen were called to the home of Ralph Burgess, 412 South Oakdale ave nue, at about 8 p. m. yestertiay to stand by in case of fire from an overheated oil stove. The de partment also reported five false alarms caused by persons dial ing the fire alarm number, U3.13, instead of the department phone, No. 3790. ... Building Permit. Chrystal Brewing and Distilling company, 301 North Fir street, applied for a building permit yeslerduy ot the office of the city superin tendent to remodel building for food lockers at a cost of SB BOO. A second application was filed by Louis Older, 38 Berkdey Way, to repair residence and roof at a cost of $300. Earley Discharged Joe Ear- ley, Jr., arrived in Meriford Tuesday from Ft. Lewis, Wush., after receiving an honorable; dis charge from the air corps and is with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Earley, Sr., Holland hotel. As a staff sergeant, Earley served 28 months, of three and one-half years in the service, with the 8th fighter command In the European theater. He was stationed at Ft. Potluck luncheon will be served and members are ask ed to bring service. OBITUARY LUCELLA E. FOSS Lucella E. Foss passed away at a local hospital Friday morning. Mrs. Foss, affectionately known as "Pat," was born at Rudd, Iowa, April 17, 1905. She came to Medford about eight years ago from San Francisco. She was employed as manager of Adri enne's millinery department. On November 12. 1944, she went to Charles City, Iowa, where she was united In mar riage to Arbie Foss. Mrs. Foss and her husband returned to Medford last August. Besides her husband, Mrs. Foss leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Her man Diestler, of Medford; two sisters, Lois J. Merkle, of Chica go, 111., a twin sister, Arvella Carbiner, of Medford, and one nephew, Jim, in the South Pa cific. Funeral services will be held at the Perl Funeral Home Mon day at 2 p. m. The Rev.
