Earley Discharged Joe Ear-
ley, Jr., arrived in Meriford
Tuesday from Ft. Lewis, Wush.,
after receiving an honorable; dis
charge from the air corps and is
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Earley, Sr., Holland hotel.
As a staff sergeant, Earley
served 28 months, of three and
one-half years in the service,
with the 8th fighter command In
the European theater. He was
stationed at Ft. George Wright,
Wash., shortly before receiving
his discharge.

OBITUARY
LUCELLA E. FOSS
Lucella E. Foss passed away at
a local hospital Friday morning.
Mrs. Foss, affectionately known
as "Pat," was born at Rudd,
Iowa, April 17, 1905. She came
to Medford about eight years ago
from San Francisco. She was
employed as manager of Adri
enne's millinery department.
On November 12. 1944, she
went to Charles City, Iowa,
where she was united In mar
riage to Arbie Foss. Mrs. Foss
and her husband returned to
Medford last August.
Besides her husband, Mrs.
Foss leaves to mourn her passing,
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Her
man Diestler, of Medford; two
sisters, Lois J. Merkle, of Chica
go, 111., a twin sister, Arvella
Carbiner, of Medford, and one
nephew, Jim, in the South Pa
cific. Funeral services will be held
at the Perl Funeral Home Mon
day at 2 p. m. The Rev. Stanley
Keller of the Brethren Church
will officiate and interment will
be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

ferred stocks gained 1 to 3
points. High-priced rails wore
up a point or more.
