GeBauer apnftments, is ex pected to arrive in the city to morrow to attend the wedding Sunday of her brother, Frank Rogers, Jr., and miss rrggy Young daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Young. Discharged Edward W. Oe arrived home in Medford this week from Ft. Lewis, Wash., where he received an honorable discharge from the army August. i 8. As a T'Sgt. in the medical rnrns. Oe served 19 months ' overseas in the South Pacific In the army three years, he was employed at Brown's cafe before entering the service. Moore On Furlough T5 Clorin D. Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Moore, Route, 4, is spending a 30 day furlough in the valley following his recent arrival in the States from the European theater. Moore, who served for six months with the nnth nrmnrprt riivisinn. will re port back to Ft. Lewis, Wash., at the end of his furlough and later to Camp Cook, Calif. Forestry Men Here Lyle F. M'atts, chief of the National For est Service, Washington, D. C, visited briefly at the Medford headquarters of Crater Lake Na tional Forest Service Monday. Accompanying him were S. B. Show, regional forester of Re gion 5, Wallace I- Hutchinson, y assistant regional forester m charge of information and edu cation, and Stephen N. Wyckoff, director of the California experi ment station- The party was touring the region, visiting local officials at Yreka, Medford and Grants Pass before returning to San Francisco. Zahuom Promoted Mr- and Mrs. Albert H- Zahuom of Route 4, box 179-A have received word that their son, stationed on Luzon island in the Philippine group, has been promoted from private first class to corporal. Zahuom, serving with an anti tank company, also received the combat badge and expert badge. . Tolberts Leave Lt. and Mrs. William Tolbert plan to leave tne city Sunday for Torney gen eral hospital, Palm Springs. Calif., where Lt. Tolbert expects to receive his release from the armed forces. From there, the couple will return to the offic er s home at McCurtain, Ok'.a. Mrs. Tolbert arrived in the U. S. recently from Edinburgh, Scot land, and the Tolberts plan to make their home in Oklahoma City. Permit! True, 413 South Central avenue, $200, for general repairs to residence. Expected Home Pfc. Edward L. Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Walter, Route 1, Cen tral Point, who is now In Le Havre, France, expects to arrive in the States noon, according to a telegram received by his par ents yesterday. Walter, who has served for the past 17 months with a military police battalion in the European theater, was a member of the armed guard at the Potsdam conference. Home From Service Former ly a technician, fourth grade, in the army, Horace Green arrived in the city last week after re ceiving an honorable discharge at Ft. Lewis, Wash., and is now residing at the home of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Green, 1014 West Tenth street. A veteran of three years in the service. Brady Discharged Louis Brady, master sergeant in a com bat engineer unit in Europe since January, 1944, was return ed to this country July 13, and received an honorable discharge under the point system at Ft, Lewis, Wash., on July 22. He !s now employed at Starveant Lumber company at Azalea, Ore- Brady entered the army in Douglas county In June, 1941, and spent one year in Canada on the Alaska highway. He holds battle stars for action in Normandy, northern France, Rhineland and central Europe, and also the American defense service medal, American theater service medal, European-African-Middle Eastern service medal, good conduct medal, purple heart and bronze star. Mrs. Brady was employed at Medford corporation while he was over seas. Mr. and .Mrs. F. E. Blgalow wish to thank friends and neigh bors for saving their home at Ruch from burning last Sunday.
